I don't understand why people poke fun at Facebook for copying Twitter's hashtags when:

1. Other sites such as Instagram also use hashtags
2. Twitter is basically just a Facebook status

Don't get me wrong, twitter fills a different niche than Facebook. But why the Facebook hate for evolving with social media just because they weren't the first to do something?
