I do think Sean Payton loves Taysom Hill. Maybe he did do this as gamesmanship to try and trick the Falcons.

We saw Baseball innovate from tradition where teams use multiple relievers to get thru games. So another hard to fill high paid position in sports is the NFL QB.

When the Wild Cat was being used by a couple teams in 2010 or so and the league was thinking of a 18 game season I remember some talking heads saying that teams might need to look at having a gadget type guy that they play to play 1-2 games a year or more just to get them thru the season.

So it will be fascinating to me to see if they try a mixed strategy and can make it work. The Rays were met with skepticism when they tried the opener, and now every team is trying to employ it in some form.

Exactly, I was saying that to a buddy the other day that I wouldn't even be shocked if Taysom is named the starter the way an RB is named the starter: after the first drive, they start getting cycled in & out. We'll see though, not saying that will happen...but it wouldn't surprise me.

I hated this too when I first heard it, but I'm wondering if it's more an indictment on what Jameis has looked like in practice. The Saints O is notoriously challenging, and it is Jameis Winston..he may not have it down yet enough where Payton is comfortable.

Either way its gonna be interesting, on top of an arch-rivalry game. No idea what to expect..but I'm keeping beers close to me, I may need em for this one.

Yeah I think this is some loyalty shown to Hill and getting him in a starters mindset with starters pressure going into a game.

Is he, no matter the fact they he's been there 3 years already, and, no matter Brees' status, likely to be on the Saints longer then Winston past this year? He's signed for another year, Winston isn't.

However, practically, my guess is you'll see Winston a fair bit today because they are writing both into the gameplan.

3rd & 1 in Taysom's first ever series as a starter, and Payton dials up a pass...9 yard sack. Payton gonna Payton.

On the plus side, maybe they go to Jameis more quickly?

... yeah. I know.

Your criticisms of Saints coaching decisions are hilarious because they're like the mirror image opposite of my bitching about the Seahawks.

Doesn't help when arguably the best receiver in the league drops a wide open pass to put you in the red zone on first down. When Thomas and Kamara drops passes and then Lutz misses a kick, you know that's just a cursed series.

I'm not used to this feeling of having no confidence in the QB...may need to get drunk at halftime.

That Burrow injury was terrrrible. Ugh, hate to see that, that was really ugly.

UGH! Hill 56 yard bomb to Sanders for the TD, brought back on a holding call. Was such a nice play too

If Titans win, Browns pass the Ravens.

Singleton has made many good plays.

Daniel Jones is the best active NFC East QB. What a division.

Me too, that was ugly. That's the most depressed about an injury I've felt since Deshaun Watson's in 2017 during his amazing rookie season. Just sad to see as a football fan
