Much worse than expected. Imagine hitting .331 in your first 10 seasons and still not finishing your career over .300.
He never hit over .285, or an OBP over .343 in any season with Anaheim. Even the most cynical projection when he signed wouldn't have been that awful.

Yeah, he's been bad, but remember he is very likely 54 years old (*) at this point.
I read today that he has a career batting average of .298....and hasn't batted at least .298 in ten years!!
*slight exaggeration

I kinda want to see him sign back with the Cards as a bench bat, but he'll probably end up on the Pirates or something.

Averaged 7.87 WAR in St. Louis and 1.28 WAR in Anaheim. Basically a HOFer half his career and marginal starter the other half.

You know how they say, "If so and so retired today, he'd be in the Hall of Fame?" This might put that statement to the test, although he probably still gets in first ballot.

Yeah that first 10 years still put him in the top 50 all-time in WAR, his first 10 years were even better than Trout from a WAR perspective, plus the clutch playoff play to boot. But off those first 10 years he was on track for probably unanimous HOF.

yeah there is absolutely no way that Pujols isn't a first ballot hall of famer. I'd put his first 10 years up against anyone. I wonder what his stats would be like if he didn't chase every last cent on the open market and decided to stay with St Louis. Same could be said with Griffey. Arguably the two best players of their generation, with substantial drop offs in production on their new teams.

I mean the guy averaged 40 homers a year in St. Louis, not exactly a hitter friendly yard. Imagine the numbers he would have put up in a bandbox like Yankee Stadium.

And 8 of his first 10 seasons with an OPS over 1.000. He had 100 extra base hits(!) in 2004. His baseball-reference page is pure porn for the first 10 years. He was going to be the goat before the term goat was even cool. Oh what could've been.

He’s the 2nd best 1B in baseball history
He is also an amazing human . I honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see him get in unanimously now that the stigma has been broken
I would love to know how old he really is ! 45 is my guess !

Angels get swept by the Rays. Henney gave them 6 shutout innings and 10Ks. But Trout goes 0 for 4 and the pen gives up 8.

Wade Miley's throwing a no-hitter after 8 but it's 0-0. If the Reds don't score in the top of the 9th, any point sending Miley out again? He's at 106 pitches.
I wouldn't. I wouldn't want him to take the L after such a performance.
Edit: The Reds have scored! They may score a bunch. This will be a long half inning.

No hitter competed! It only took 8 more pitches. That's the 4th no-hitter already this year. 5th if you count Bumgarner's
And Manaea's got a no-hitter through 7, but it's also 0-0!

In the first 15 games of the season the Orioles gave up 124 runs.
In the next 16 they gave up a total of 58

Acuna likely broke his hand/finger because Snikter is a ####ing #####. He gets drilled all the the time inside. Harper should be drilled in the ribs that won't happen with a ##### like Snikter though.

How Buster Posey and Yadier Molina Are Dialing Back The Clock
The two dominant catchers of the 2010s are looking like their old selves with similarly resurgent seasons.

Putting a poverty franchise like the A's in Vegas would be a waste. Montreal, home of a previous poverty franchise, is their natural successor.
