I thought Cammy was a "hang em up after you're done" kind of guy, but then again maybe he just needs to go somewhere to wash the Edmonton stink off of himself before the game is ruined forever for him.

Yes, Dawes going to Russia at 26 is the same as Cammalleri going to Russia at 36

Cammalleri at 36 was about as productive and is the same size as Dawes was at 26

It is rather odd that there's so many of these players that the Flames have acquired in recent years that essentially have their NHL careers flicker out.

Ramo, Berra, Jokipaka, Raymond, Versteeg, Colborne, Bollig, Wideman, Lack, Ortio, Stewart, Chiasson, Cervenka,

vs. probably only a handfull of players who have gone on to remain as a somewhat 'staple' on other teams.

Russell, Byron, Johnson, Engelland

*Exception for Hudler and Stajan as I feel that they just got old and had respectful careers.

Didn't Chiasson win the Stanley Cup this year and score in the playoffs?

Every team has a similar list of failures. It's the best league and the world and a long line of people taking their shot.

Normal and natural NHL attrition, especially for a team that transitioned from an older, declining team, into and through a rebuild

This has to be the oddest list of motley crew names to support something I've seen.

Your list includes players that had career years with the Flames (Colborne), players who got old (Wideman), players who were all but done before coming to the Flames (Lack, Stewart), failed oversea prospects (Ortio, Cervenka), a player significantly injured last year (Versteeg), players who were never good in the first place (Bollig, Ramo), a goalie who had one good stretch as a backup after leaving the Flames (Berra) and then a fringe NHL player who's likely to remain that (Chiasson).

The only player who really fits that narrative is Raymond as he did come over as a bonafide NHL player and fade away into nothing before his 30th birthday. But even isn't a perfect fit because he had to wait for a tryout with the Leafs before signing the year before the Flames acquired him. I mean Jagr actually is probably the best comparable actually.

Neither is Edmonton. And in Siberia there are no Oiler fans and no 24/7 McDavid coverage.

Therefore, point stands.

One playoff series win in 13 years kind of speaks to the fact that a bunch of not very good players have taken the ice for the organization. Can't say I'm surprised that so many had little to no success after leaving here.
