I get that he likes to stir the pot, but I am a bit surprised that so many on here seem to dislike him so much. Once you know his shtick I think he's tolerable.

I enjoyed his radio hits with Rob Kerr.

It reeks of him being asked to resign and him not having anything lined up yet. He'll pretend he's been keeping it under wraps waiting for the right time to announce when in reality he has to find something to announce.

Francis has been solid the last number of years, imo. Would way rather have someone critical of the local team, as necessary, than the bootlickers in Edmonton.
Won't say he'll be missed, but the drama here every time he pens an article is amusing.

He is just a devils advocate. Last year he was praising the team when many fans were losing it.

Me too, but there is such a thing as too much one way as the other.

Hes not objectively critical, its a schtick and it got old eons ago.

His tweet should really say "Thanks Mom for getting me my job at the Calgary Sun"

I never saw this tweet as I have been blocked by him for a few seasons now.

Good Riddance, talentless hack.

Waiting for the fall to announce the new gig makes me believe he's the new TV host for the Flames on Sportsnet....

Never liked his writing or style overall - though he occasionally produced a pretty good feature article. Even so, I wish him well.

I would assume that he's going to be focused exclusively on TV. That said, I really hope Francis isn't the next Flames host. Leslie and Singh are both much better at it.

Whatever Eric Francis decides to do I wish him the best. I don't always agree with his assessments but he does cover the Flames and isn't afraid to bang the drum from time to time when dealing with national reporters who overlook our franchise.

Good luck in the future endeavor.

I still blame Francis for stirring the pot on the Wideman hit. Without disclosing his connection to the linesman until later.

I like Francis, but it's apparent from this thread that his schtick sure irritates a lot of fans.

Best of luck to him!
