I like the idea of shooting high but to me I think he’s overvalued with his major deficiency being his size. With this package it’s pretty much the normal equivalent of three first round picks. I don’t think Toronto does it. I could see Knies, 2nd, 3rd but more? Naa. They value Knies a lot.

Keep him, he’s got a solid contract and decide at a later time if he’s apart of the long term plan.

Personally not really interested in LH LW Knies as the main piece coming back for our prime-age 1st/2nd pairing RHD on a very good contract for the next 2 yrs.

Please no. We really shouldn’t be hanging our goalies out to dry with only Weegar as our top D on the team.

I'd rather trade Andersson the following season. The Flames have enough pending UFAs to deal with now, AKA all of the defensemen except Weegar and Andersson.

If defence takes longer to develop we should be keeping building that out now. Wolf is a smaller guy and getting large defence to clear out the front will be necessary. Big generally equals slower which is a concern but if all the chips are in on Wolf it’s the way it’s gotta be. The sudden “leak” of Andersson is a bit suspicious. I wonder with the movement of people if he’s indicated he’d prefer being moved?

An Andersson deal makes way more sense at the draft unless the return is absurd. Carol8na would be a good suitor, they have a ton of UFA defenseman and some good chips,

To CAR
Andersson

To CGY
Necas
Nikishin

I'm a big fan of Rasmus, so unless the deal is ridiculous, I'd much rather keep him. Weekes seems like the least reliable insider, so until someone reliable reports this, I'm not too concerned...

The only way flames would consider trading Anderson right now is if hanifin signed an extension with flames. No chance they would trade 3 of their 4 top d men .

Really depends on if they want Andersson past his current contract.

Here are a few deals I would make in a heart beat:

1. Andersson for Wyatt Johnson
2. Anderssonn for Lucas Raymond
3. Andersson for Ekblad + Lundell
4. Andersson for Chychrun + 1st
5. Andersson for Neighbours + Parayko

Then build the defense around Weegar + Kylington. Audition the young guys for this season and in the off-season, pick up a couple guys on rental deals while the young guys progress.

I get that but they need dmen for next year. They will probably eventually trade him but I highly doubt it’s this year.

If the return is killer why not? They can get filler D from the UFA market.

I see no way Rasmus is traded unless the return blows our minds.

You need veterans in a retool and Rasmus is a top pairing guy. If Hanifin somehow decides to stay it would make more sense to cash in on the last couple years of the sweetheart deal Andersson is on

Defencemen are so important and they age well. The Flames have two good youngish ones and really ought to keep both if they can. There's no-one in the system ready to replace them and no guarantees that a good prospect turns out to be as good.

Wow wasn't expecting Andersson's name out there, the only reason I can't see this happening is that without Tanev and Andersson we're left with one RHS on D (Weegar), and all of our upcoming D prospects are LHS.

Makes me think that if a trade would happen with Andersson, Conroy would likely be targeting a RHS D in a potential return. Righties are arguably worth even more in a trade though, and Andersson's contract is fantastic for what he provides... interesting.

I don't know about this as I feel he's future captain material. Seems like a guy the organization should keep as a building block as he's been solid for the team and seems to have more fire than other players on the roster. IMO it's more that teams are calling and not that the Flames are shopping him.

I think everyone is putting a lot of thought into a Weekes rumour. He’s a horrible insider.

I don't take this too seriously. Before the deadline is over Conroy will have had taken a call on every player that holds value. I would imagine his answer is 'if you over pay any player is available'.

All Weekes is saying is teams are calling about Andersson which isn't farfetched at all. No where did Weekes say he will be traded.
