The point is there are lots of posters bringing lots of variety when it comes to political opinions. And a bunch of them have no trouble bringing as much snark as anyone else.
Acting like conservatives are being chased away is… lame. They post all the time in the Canadian thread, they don’t post here. Only Yoho posts here, and he gets called a bot because he has zero interest in conversation, he just reposts opinion pieces with the occasional one-liner he thinks is clever. I get brought up, mocked, and whined about by 2-3 posters in particular weekly (deserved, I’m a treasure) and I’m still here, nobody is “chasing me out.” Iggy_oi gets bullied constantly for being pro-union, nobody is chasing him out. I could go on, but if you’re getting chased off a message board because people call you lame? Jesus Christ, get a backbone.
“You just keep chasing them away”? You can’t be serious. Why? Because Cliff doesn’t post? One of the last things he defended the UCP over is them insisting that teachers also talk about all the “good things” Nazis did. Sorry you’re missing out on that, maybe you can DM him or just follow Kanye on Twitter.

I was merely pointing out that I like the back-and-forth of different points of view. And I agree, there are some resilient posters here.

Yeah but kids wearing masks is constricting and limits freedoms. Let's focus on what matters here.

Those kids are dying anyways, it's an inefficient use of resources! - Danielle Smith, probably.

I’m certain publications are intentional about the photos they use for #### like this.

So to keep track that’s a premier who thinks it can be amended, a deputy premier who hasn’t read it, another who thinks it good, and another who thinks it should be amended?

And while we shouldn't readily accept wasteful/inefficient elements of any program, I'd argue that this was generally the best kind of 'waste' - money paid to frontline workers, which is generally recirculated locally pretty efficiently. Using an Ontario based company to administer the staffing was unfortunate, though IIRC there simply wasn't an AB based alternative.
And we need to remember this was all in the context of a new carbon tax, and this program was simply a measure to help people adapt.

Reading through the link it includes all residential programs for the EEA in that report. This includes the cheap light bulbs being sold, the green energy rebates, the energy efficiency grants, and the putting in lightbulb programs. Without further breakdown I’m not sure your conclusion above is true.

The timing of the poll if also quite interesting - post-affordability measures, pre/before sovereignty act.
Which is kind of what I had noted previously. Affordability measures could have been a win for her, but has the message gone so off track - I would argue a lot of her own doing - with the sovereignty act?

GDP stats show real estate and manufacturing are larger than O/G activity.

It's an Alberta thing...alot of people in O&G think that the contribution to the country is HUGE...when really it is not. I don't how accurate 10% of GDP is but I would have to think that is pretty close. It's not a small number but on the other side of the coin if half of it disappeared...not that big of a deal in the big picture.

You need to look at percent of exports and inflows of capital to understand the importance of O+G to Canadas economy.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List...orts_of_Canada
Also if you look at Cars exports = imports roughly so it’s net affect is still really just a service industry for Canadians. Essentially rich countries exports goods and services that use low amounts of labour for goods that are labour intensive creating the ability to generate economic surplus.

OK Smith supporters, I understand you think these ideas are good, do you think this team has the competency to pull it off? If so, what makes you think that?
