Can't remember which show it was on (Spittin Chiclets, maybe?), but he was telling a story about how he and Brady were at a bar that had this huge long fountain in front of (or near?) it, and how people there would always get drunk and challange someone to a swimming race in it. He was talking about how some guy challenged Brady and Brady destroyed the guy and how hilarious the whole thing was. Then was saying imagine the headlines if that had happened in Canada. It would have been this huge country-wide story, with TSN videos debating on "is this stuff good for the sport of hockey" etc etc.
He was like, "here though, nobody cares about that stuff. Like, everyone just has more important things to worry about than a hockey player swimming in a fountain." (I'm massively paraphrasing from memory, but that was the jist of it.)
He has a point though. I can already see the video in my head of Gino Reda and a random hockey expert talking about respecting public property and worrying about making the playoffs instead of having fun with your brother. Not to mention the twitter and IG polls and the blatantly click-baity SNET headlines etc.

For Vegas, I've seen videos of the players just out in public and people don't recognize them. I've been watching some of their news channels for coverage on street viewing parties outside the arena, etc. and while in Calgary, it would number in the thousands, in Vegas it was like "a hundred people have gathered".
Being a millionaire professional athlete in your 20s, its great to play in markets with great weather, luxuries, amenities, entertainment, + anonyminity.

I just realized I said "jist" instead of "gist"
(but, yeah I agree completely. For me, personally, I would probably prefer about 75% anonymity. Like... "feel free to recognize and maybe wave or say "hey man" as you walk by, but allow me to at least signal my approachability before actually coming up to me")

There were a lot of people outside the arena last night at the viewing party. More than a couple hundred for sure.
Thing about Vegas and famous people as well - they are always out and about and generally people leave them alone. I've seen plenty of celebrities in the casinos and they are just going about their business, and so is everyone else.

After playing into mid-june and then missing the entire offseason with a busted sternum, resulting in a slow start to this season, it appears as though Chucky is back!
Month of Janurary
That aside, I was messing around looking at some posession stats on NHL.com and thought this was pretty cool.
SAT is the total difference of every shot attempt a player's team has had vs allowed while the player was on the ice. Top 15 since the league started recording the stat in 2009:
That seems pretty impressive... but Tkachuk's first season was 2016-17 and these counts go all the way back to 2009-10. There are some pretty significant differences in games played there amongst that group...
SAT% is the percent of shot attempts a player's team has had out of all shot attempts that occured while the player was on the ice (min. 400 games played). Here's the top 5 since 2009:
I know SAT(Corsi)/USAT(Fenwick) aren't everyone's favourite stats, but in terms of just measuring puck posession (you still can't take a shot if you don't have the puck), it still suffices.
Anyway, I just thought it was pretty wild that he's behind only Bergeron and Datsyuk. (Edit: I just realized that makes him #1 amongst all active players, with Marchand just behind. Crazy!)

TLDR: Chucky was the droid we were looking for. If by droid you mean elite forward.
