It’s pretty clear on the one angle IMO — Bennett’s stick drives the goalies pad off the post. That created the opening to bang it across the line. Wasn’t intentional from Sam — he’s just banging away — but you can’t do that and the ref saw it.

Put another way, Vasilevskiy is one of the best goalies in the world. You think he’s going to push himself off the post? It makes no sense.

Also, a good point of comparison between these teams and the Flames skill-wise? Notice how many players can take passes off their skates while skating with speed?

There’s not a single player on the Flames team that can do it at this pace.

This game has been out of this world. Both these teams are fantastic and I'm loving the energy from the crowd in Florida. Never thought I'd say that.

The season series was very competitive and it got nasty near the end of the year. There's a bit of hatred already between them.

It's going to be a great series.

I have to admit, I don't feel great about the Bennett thing. I am not judging anyone and nothing personal against Bennett, but his success is just a reminder of our futility.

But I still can't help but root for the Panthers in general though. They are a well built team.

Man this Florida team head been fun to watch this year. So happy they added Sam Bennett. Love Gudas on the back end as well.
