Most mass shootings are drive-byes? I would like to see a source on that one.

The most accepted definition of a mass shooting, then, is as a single incident in which four or more people are shot or killed.

...“We’ve become inured to the day-to-day gun violence you see happening in urban communities,” Thomas adds. “A lot of Americans are not necessarily thinking about it.” Mass shootings happen all the time in the United States—particularly within poor Black inner-city communities.

A new analysis of 358 mass shootings in America in 2015 found that three-quarters of the victims whose race could be identified were black.

Roughly a third of the incidents with known circumstances were drive-by shootings or were identified by law enforcement as gang-related. Another third were sparked by arguments, often among people who were drunk or high.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...control-reddit
Sorry, looks like it’s one-third were gang-related. Another third are spontaneous arguments. But the kind that make the news and that we think about when we use the term “mass shooting”, that of a lone gunman deliberately and indiscriminately mowing down a bunch of strangers, makes up only a fraction of mass shooting incidents in the U.S.

I don’t think this is correct. I can’t recall any of the mass shootings in recent years being drive-by shootings. They’re in malls, schools, places of work, homes, that kind of thing.

I know, nobody died in this school shooting from Rigby, Idaho. The scary part is that the shooter is a female in grade 6! She shot and injured three students. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world...out&li=AAggNb9

CNN has 6 mass shootings headlining their webpage; as I Googled these, I found 4 others for a total of 10 mass shootings so far this weekend

I hate to have to ask, but is that better or worse than pre-pandemic stats?

Another mass shooting at a rail yard in California this morning. CBC just reported that the shooter is down and that there are multiple victims and injuries.

Shortly after midnight, a white Nissan Pathfinder pulled up to the El Mula Banquet Hall near Hialeah.

That's when three people "stepped out of the vehicle with assault rifles and handguns and started firing indiscriminately into the crowd," Ramirez said.

"The result is 20 to 25 victims with gunshot injury wounds, and two deceased on the scene."

I'm sure the good people of Florida are happy DeSantis offered his condolences to the victims of those attacked in the latest shooting.

One can only imagine how many more mass shootings there would be if they hadn't been praying after all the previous shootings.

132 days for the States to hit 200 mass shootings this year. The world should introduce them to mirror technology.
