Since I added an aside in my previous post, I'll do it again here. I spoke with my Aunt today and she is doing well at home. Definitely feeling and sleeping better in her own bed. She did mention that the other person who ended up in hospital due to Covid passed away. Apparently he had a number of comorbidities, but that doesn't take away from the fact that his life ended too soon due to Covid.

A coworker of mine also has been admitted to hospital with Covid and pneumonia in both her lungs. From what I have heard she is not doing well and it's just another Covid case hitting way too close to home.

Everyone stay safe out here, these variants are something else.

Welp,

My GF and I both had a sore throat yesterday. Today we are feeling a few other very mild symptoms (no fever or flue but sore throat, congestion). Hoping it is maybe allergies or something else but getting a test tomorrow.

I could be the first person I know to get it twice.

I have been really good lately because of the variants but that still leaves grocery stores and other shops.

I went golfing for the first time in over two years and I would say I wasnt overly comfortable with that situation to be honest. Yeah you are outside, but you are in a golf cart with another person, and you are constantly touching things or are in close contact. I also have a tendency to put my tee in my mouth.

Not saying it was from that event, but will be informing my golf mates.

I walk or take my own cart when golfing. Hope you're just feeling allergies, good luck!

When did you have it the first time? I'm wondering what antibody protection a person gets from getting it twice.

Yeah I can’t say it was golfing but I remember thinking this wasn’t as safe as it looks on the surface.

I usually don’t suffer allergies so...

I had it in July. I know that despite what trump and Kenney preach the immunity likely wears off. Much milder symptoms than last time (see the second post in the this thread)

I got a part time job at a golf course for the next few months while I wait for my business to be allowed to re-open, just to keep myself busy and get a little extra cash in the jeans. I'm surprised they let you share a cart, we are only allowing it if you live in the same household.

I think you are supposed to wear a mask if you share a cart with someone outside of your household. But I don't think anyone does.

There is about zero chances of transmission from surfaces, particularly outdoors.

I’m not saying I got it from golf as we have certainly been out with respect to other things. I just meant that I felt uncomfortable doing so

So right before I got the 'vid, I was doing a 30 days of Murph challenge and was about 14 days in. I had all my times recorded. Ended up getting covid, took 2 weeks off, and went back at it today.

My times went up by 25%.

So even though I had very, very few symptoms and felt fine, my body has clearly been fighting something off and is weak as HELL.

This disease is brutal, man. Seriously kicks your ass.

I think taking 2 weeks off difficult workouts will do some of that in general too.
My first few workouts post covid were terrible but now I feel 100% back to normal levels (1 month since infection).

Hopefully your recovery goes that way too.

My partner and I got our results back this morning and were negative. Good news, I suppose, but doesn't give me solace seeing as we are obviously suffering some cold/flu symptoms.

We are still planning on self isolating for the duration of the lockdown as a precaution

My son, who just turned 11, was gifted a positive Covid test result for his birthday. He has what I would consider mild symptoms to the point that we weren't sure he even qualified for a test.

My wife and I are going for tests tonight. I have zero symptoms, my wife is feeling a bit off. We are three weeks out from getting the AZ vaccine.

Hope he has a speedy recovery and you both don't catch it.

Have they told you how to isolate from him to avoid getting it?
I've wondered how this is even possible for parents & children.

Just the standard recommendations of sleeping in separate rooms and having designated bathrooms. My wife assumes she is positive and is not distancing from him. I have no symptoms so I'm keeping my distance and wearing a mask when we're in the same room. Realistically I don't know how you can completely distance from a child.

I don't see how we both don't have it though. There was no distancing prior to him going for his test yesterday.

Update: I'm negative, my wife is positive.

Timeline:

April 21 - Wife and I get the AZ. The vaccine seriously kicks my ass for days, she has no side effects.
May 7 - Son feels sick at bedtime. Headache and stomach ache. It's his birthday so we assume he had too much junk food and stayed up too late. He is 100% fine on Saturday and Sunday.
May 10 - He has a few coughing spells during the day, starts getting stuffy in the evening. Very minor stuff.
May 12 - Still stuffy. No coughing. Do the online assessment in the afternoon for him but it's very grey as to whether he should be tested or not. We opt to get one done.
May 13 - He tests positive. My wife starts to feel off. AHS determines May 7 as his first day of symptoms. We both get tested that evening.
May 14 - Son is mostly back to normal. I can definitely see how kids could have it and have it not identified. My wife is doing ok, has what I would equate to a medium-grade cold.

Hopefully they have seen the worst of it in terms of symptoms.
