The village next to it is slightly annoyed by it's existence and overall light negative effect on their health, but they can't move away because it just smells so darn good!

Seriously though, this is like the 8th major eruption in a dozen years. You'd think the government would relocate the surrounding people.

Indonesia is just a string of volcanos, you would be moving people from one hot fiery death zone to another

Apparently this volcano is in some kind of prolonged eruption with sporadic major eruptions. You'd assume there would be an advantage in moving people away from the volcano that is eruption right now.

There's probably a lot of logistics with moving people around, political sensitivities, real estate costs, perhaps lack of available space where there aren't eruptions going on etc...

Volcanic eruptions are so uncomfortable to watch they keep bringing me back to that morning after I ate extremely spicy chicken wings ....

Iceland is expecting a fissure eruption in the Reyjanes peninsula, this is between the international airport and the capital region, for those familiar not too far from the Blue Lagoon which has been closed.

We've experienced thousands of quakes the last week, many over 4, a number over 5. The quakes now indicate lava nearing the surface so they are on high alert in the region.

The good news is its not going to be anything on the scale of a Eyjafjallajökull, shouldn't be much ash or any explosive power, just a tear in the earth and a nice touristy fissure eruption.
