Default Heading to San Fran - what should I buy?

OK collective CP knowledge center, I'm heading down to San Francisco for 4 days next week to do some work with Cisco. I'll have a bit of extra time on my hands, but not a ton.

What cool US things should I buy while I'm there that we either can't get up here, or would be significantly cheaper down there, since we have a strong dollar and all?

iPads aren't that much cheaper, and by the time you add the California sales tax and compare to our GST, it's about $30 cheaper to pick one up down there. Not a big deal.

iPods are about the same deal... would be a bit cheaper down there, but not enough to get me all excited.

What about a B&N Nook? I hear you can root it and turn it into a half decent Adroid tablet... worth the $250 US?

What else should I grab while stateside, understanding that the allowable limit to bring back while only being gone 4 days isn't a whole lot...

You might not want to call it San Fran unless you want the locals to roll their eyes at you.

Do not go to Fisherman's Wharf. Do not eat clam chowder on that particular pier. Do not order clam chowder in a bread bowl anywhere in San Francisco.

Napa/Sonoma wine.

Eat a burrito in the Mission District.

See a band at the Fillmore.

The Giants are home this week, I think.

Eat at Chez Pannise in Berkley.

The Science Center in Golden Gate Park is outstanding.

Sunday morning - Glide Gospel Church.

Woah, deja vu

I thought it was funny that the thread title is "Heading to San Fran" and he is doing work for Cisco. Just put the two words together, MIND BLOWN.

Edit: Shame on the OP for not putting a tag about Rice-A-Roni. Shame!

Damn, that would have been good.

I'll hang my head in shame.

Every time I'm there I stop by the Ross on Market Street and buy dress shirts and shoes. It's kind of like a Winner's, but way cheaper, and with better stuff.

I call it home so if you have any questions about things to do, PM me. As for things to buy... spend your money enjoying the city... one of the best in the US, IMO.
