Kind of a head scratcher signing on behalf of Kylington. He could've just stayed with the Flames for that kind of term and money. Ah well, let's see what the Flames rebuild will look like with all the upcoming D-men they got in the farm.

Well best of luck to him, personally I'm just glad this chapter is over.

He overrated himself and gambled.

He lost. The deal was probably not available anymore after he went FA.

Most of the time, players win in UFA. Occasionally, you get a Klinberg or Kylington

Wonder if that’s why he looked around first. Figured he could get a 1 year/$1 million deal from a few teams but wanted to see if he could get a multi-year contract. Turned out there wasn’t a multi-year deal option for him so he could just go with a deal similar to what the flames were offering. In the end, he ends up on a contender under a similar contract that he was rumoured to be offered by the flames. The only downside for him with going to Colorado is that it will likely be in a diminished role compared to what he would have had with the flames. He likely would have played top 4 minutes in Calgary and that kind of opportunity could have lead to a bigger contract (term and $) next offseason.

What's the Venn diagram of people upset about Kylington and people upset about Female Olympic Boxing?

Disappointed to see him leave. Liked his game and think he has the tools to be a top defenceman if he can connect it all. I think he's one of the guys we see figure it out a little later ala Giordano.

Best of luck Buzz.

I'm proud the Flames handled it this way but also glad we have moved on. Even if he becomes this amazing stud Dman.
Edwards is a hard ass in business, but he's not personally mean. I doubt he minded.

It really seems like that ship sailed with the Bean signing.

I don't know what his agent told him but I wouldn't have advised him to gamble on the market with the question marks around him. His return was encouraging but the overall performance also didn't raise his stock.

Glad that an NHL team took a flyer.

Initially, I thought you meant Gio (Mr Bean). Totally forgot Conroy signed Bean early last month

Over? people still complain about Jankowski being drafted. This is far from over.

Maybe, just maybe that term and money wasn't enough for him to stay in this market. I know I wouldn't with this fanbase.

He was replaced immediately by a better player. I see no reason to boo him. He didn’t screw the team like Johnny did.
Technically, he arguably screwed the team WORSE than Johnny did, because at least Johnny played out his contract, and also produced. I don't know why the online Flames community overrates Kylington so much. It makes no sense. He was mid at best, a 6/7 at worst.

He can’t be that overrated if he’s the only player you’ve posted about for the past month… over and over and over again.

I've posted about him literally the same amount you have. It's a thread, and was an ongoing story.

I don’t think he gambled and lost. A 1 yr deal with a cap hit that could be buried was always most likely. So why not shop for your best opportunity.

5/6 is wide open in COL and the supporting cast is amazing. I think it worked out pretty well for him.

Who is overrating him?

How did he screw the Flames?

Most people who are upset at him are the ones overrating him it looks like. Being upset a 6/7 dman left for 1.05 million on a 1 year deal.

What are the expectations here for him? Was he supposed to play for free because the Flames did the right thing?
