Well, damn. He'll be their 7 dman, and won't have the pressure there, but I can't help but think he'd have had more of an opportunity here. So long, hardly knew you.

That's a gamble that didn't pay off. He probably could have signed something similar to the Bean contract if he had re-signed here.

I'm assuming the Flames offered him more years than this. Sucks, I liked him, but it's not a huge loss for the Flames. Hope he does well!

hell of a rude awakening on the open market. Overplayed his hand for sure.

Yep. Dont know what precipitated that but he greatly over-estimated the market.

He will fit in on the Avs I think.

Question is will they have the stomach for his mistakes and falling down 6 times a game to stay in the lineup?

Wish him the best either way.

Sell out. But could be a better fit for him to land a big contract in the future, plus an opportunity to win.

Rooting hard for Kylington, always liked the player and he's truly been through hell and back if you believe the rumour. I figured he'd get a one year deal before having to sign a PTO like most here assumed he would.

Interesting to see this play out this way because I think it lends credence to the idea that Sam Girard could be a Flame (via a cap dump move) within the year

This board got really stupid and spiteful towards a player that's been through a very difficult time in his life and made a business decision that ultimately didn't pay off. You guys kind of come off dumb with these comments, no offense.

This makes the Flames worse this year (which is good) but drops the watchability way down (which is bad).

As Scorp mentions, if old Kylington shows up then this would hasten Girard’s departure, I’d take him here.
