Rockstar is generally pretty consistent with using in game footage for their trailers, so hopefully that wasn't just target renders.

Rockstars usually pretty honest with trailers, I'm sure its all real ingame footage

I now selfishly hope this is released on the Nintendo Switch (I know it won't) because I don't want to buy 2 consoles next year

Well...guess I'll be buying a PS4 in 2017. Remastered version of the first definitely would be awesome if they'd consider it.

It's backwards compatible on Xbox one. I installed it last night and played for a bit. It looks its age but still lots of fun.

I played RDR fanatically until my Xbox crapped out on me. Made it maybe half way through Mexico. If that. I was trying to do all the hunting challenges. Never got to finish the game...

I've played it through 3 times. I'm still stuck at 99% because of one bounty that just won't show up in Mexico. I spent DAYS trying to get that one god damn challenge... Probably weeks over the 3 times I played all the way through.

Did you get all the multiplayer trophies/achievements?

For people who never finished the game, it seems they almost exclusively burned out in Mexico. I kind of recall feeling that way too, the Landon Ricketts missions were awesome, but aside from that there were way too many frustrating carriage chases, etc.

It's too bad so many gave up there, as once you finish Mexico and get back to the States, you'll end up in Blackwater/Great Plains/Tall Trees, which IMO is the coolest part of the whole game. Landscape is beautiful, and hunting grizzly bears and buffalo rules. Going hunting in Tall Trees is always a stressful affair (in a good way), so much wildlife coming at you.

No just the single player. I'm not that super cool.

I spent hours up there riding around hunting...

That was the beauty of it all...you could just ride around and do stuff. I never felt like i had to be chasing missions.

If I recall there was a trophy for killing a bear with a knife. Probably the most satisfyingly intense trophy of all time.

2 cougars with your knife was ridiculous. Bear was tough for sure but I hated cougars in this game.

Some speculation that the poster tease reveals some familiar characters:

Yeah it was tough. The cougars would one shot you and I think you needed to hit them more than once with the knife to kill them. When I killed my second cougar with a knife the game glitched out and teleported my character 100 feet into the air where I fell to my death. I was speechless, didn't even get credit for killing the cougar either haha.

I'd like to play as a new character in the gang. Then you'd have John, his wife, Dutch, Bill and Esquella as possible returning characters

I've probably beat that game five times, including a tonne of free roaming and hunting each time (which is my favourite part of the game), and I literally had no idea until this thread you got an achievement for killing all the buffalo in Great Plains. Gonna need to fire er up again..
