Analyzing Rasmus Andersson’s tough season with the Calgary Flames

Rasmus Andersson has led the Calgary Flames in time on ice per game for the last three seasons—never dipping below 22 minutes a night. He’s seen the most power play time of the defence corps for four straight years and led the team in points by a defenceman for two years coming into this one.

But his play this year has been nothing short of a huge disappointment.

Win streak over, Kings aim to rebound vs. floundering Flames

If the Los Angeles Kings needed a reminder of the importance of every game, they received it in their last outing. The Kings saw their four-game winning streak end after they lost 4-1 to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, dropping Los Angeles into the Western Conference's second wild-card position.

Around the NHL: The Art Ross race is coming down to the wire, Macklin Celebrini broke a record, and more!

It’s a busy time around the league with less than three weeks remaining in the National Hockey League season.
The Art Ross race is coming down to the wire, the best player in the game today did something that hadn’t been done since Wayne Gretzky, and Thursday’s slate of games had some interesting playoff matchups.
Let’s take a look at this edition of Around the NHL!

Hopefully the Kings are furious after their loss against the Oilers a few days ago. Keep the losing coming!

Also, a Vegas and Kings win tonight can officially eliminate the Flames from playoff contention. Dare I say, this is actually a must win game for Calgary.

This is one of the few games remaining I want the Flames to win, both against LA. Got to keep Vegas against Edmonton in round 1. GFG.

My guess is the Flames go 4-6 in their last 10 games.

Looking at the Habs and Sens sched, versus ours, it would be a miracle if we finished below either team.

But keep losing to these playoff teams and hopefully we can stay below the teams above us now. Gotta think we won’t lose 4 to the ducks and sharks coming up.

LA has proven they can’t beat the Oilers though. So a Flames’ win tonight makes it more likely it’s a Vegas Oilers first round. Silver lining if they snap the skid.

Going to wear my Tank Commander jersey tonight looking for that big fat L after a valiant effort.

Andy and Weegs should join Mangi and Marky in the press box. They need maintenance before golf season.

Play well but lose. Repeat this for the remaining games. Then figure out what you’re doing in the offseason.

Don’t repeat it next season please.

Looking for a hard-fought, well played, entertaining game where the Flames have two goals waved off by the officials, and end up losing by 1.

Regarding the subtleties of the schedule, and how it is teed up well for some teams but not others...

even though the Flames finish the season with some easier opponents (i.e. this is an easier stretch in the schedule), and play 6 of their last 14 at home, they have to travel for 13 of their last 14, and 17 of their last 21 games. Crazy. The ANA game on Tuesday is the only game in their last 14 without any travel.

No matter what, we win.

Win = Vegas closer to lining up the no goods
Lose = odds of higher draft pick increase

Lets go Ott/Mtl/Ari

Start dialing in your game and put some big streaks together.

Don’t forget at this point the Flames are an “easy opponent”
