It sounds dumb but I actually kinda look forward to it. It's an exciting time, changing my clock an hour to and fro in my boring existence this last year and a half. And I know that I'm absolutely in the minority when I say that I love it when it gets dark at 5 in the winter.

You can't understand how people have different sleeping habits and rhythms than you do?
Ever heard of jet lag? I don't feel as bad changing the clocks as I do traveling time zones away but it's noticeable enough I'd rather not go through it if I had the choice. I drive for a living and any loss of sleep can affect my ability to do my job safely.
It's not a huge mountain but definitely not a molehill.

Chicago time, in relation to sunrise/set, is terrible. Really bad. Permanent DST would be great.
Latest sun sets here with DST is 8:30pm
In winter, earliest sunset is 4:22pm while sun up still early at 7:15am

It’ll be interesting to see how the question is worded. Simply a yes or no to DST/permanent standard time switching or will there be options such as permanent DST?

Apparently, this is the exact question:
Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round Daylight Saving Time, which is summer hours, eliminating the need to change our clocks twice a year?

I travel a lot...no big deal to constantly work and sleep in nee timezones...I also have 2 kids under 5...I can appreciate that the only thing justifying that pain and horror is a week on a beach or lakeside where time doesn't make a big difference...

I’d word it differently but I know they want it to be a simple question. I’d likely vote no, but my wife will likely cancel my vote.

Australia is a weird country. As for DST I'm always surprised it's such a big deal for some people for the two days of the year we have to change our clocks. Doesn't bother me in the least.

Show them a map of Canada and they'll say the same to us, with pockets (NE BC) that flip/flop between MST and PST during the year, and the laughable NFLD 30 minute offset

So keep the time exactly as it is today, no falling back? I'd vote yes to that. Rather have an extra hour of daylight after work than when going to work in the winter.

I don’t get the hatred for changing clocks. I admit I don’t have children at home but the worst part of changing clocks is actually changing those that must be done manually such as my car, wall clocks, computers, phone and other such devices. Once that’s done, I’m good to go.

My thoughts exactly, I'm usually home from work around 4pm so it's great.

Living in SK where we don't change it's a pain having to remember what everyone else does. It wreaks havoc on meeting schedules lol.

I guess a piece of my issue is there’s no point to changing the clocks. It’s annoying and twice a year we have this needless friction point. Just pick a time and be done with it.

My children never had an issue with click changing.
Also, daylight time is definitely the better option in the summer.
Standard time is likely the better option in the winter.
I fully support keeping it as it is.

I've lived under both systems. Our current system is best.
