It really does seem like the easiest thing to find is hitting. If you can pitch and defend, you're going to be in a lot of ball games, and these guys seem like they can pitch and defend.

...really felt like Pat Tabler there.

I've been watching some games, but they are tough to pay attention. I swear they don't get a hit till the 7th or 8th in most games.. yikes

I like Trent Thornton. High leg kick. Works quickly. Attack the strike zone.

Galvis with a 2 run shot. 2-1 Jays.

Another excellent outing from one of our starting pitchers.

Unfortunately the hitting is putrid

No wonder people can't stand some of the calls in baseball.

Galvis makes the tag at second and the runner was clearly off the bag. After a long review.......safe. Just ridiculous.

Hopefully Vladdy Jr can hit some baseballs when he gets called up!

Tough to blame the pitching when the Jays lose as they're basically given zero margin for error.

Jays have some O coming. Vladdy, Bo, Smith, even Biggio is looking good. Even Alford is a guy I wouldn't write off just yet. Groshans is also a guy suspect will fly up the Jays and MlB prospect rankings this sesson.

Other than seeing guys like that rake in the minors this year, what I hope to see this year is some potential future strong rotation arms emerge, like Thornton, Merryweather etc.

Some people (especially Buck & Pat) say the hitting will get better, but that's only relative. Yes, it will be better than it is now but it will still be terrible. I'll be shocked if the overall team batting average gets any better than 240. for this year with this current group.

I agree. I am actually higher on Bichette right now than I am with Vlad Jr.

I'm just hoping one of these guys on the major league roster will turn into an every day starter, right now they look absolutely awful but it's early and baseball is a long season. I remember when Solarte was awesome last April and basically disappeared for the final third of the season.

How many Jays hitters are going to end up batting north of 265. at year's end??

Sadly, I think there's a good chance it's only going to be 1 player.

Vlad, Galvis and Smoak maybe?

I think Grichuk is very boom bust like Joey Votto.

Galvis, yep. And yeah, good point. Vlad should too.

Can't see Smoakey getting that high though. I'm thinking he'll only get up to the mid 240s. BAvg. Hope I'm wrong.

We also can't expect the pitching to remain as good as it has been. It was supposed to be the opposite. Bats will heat up and the pitching will tank. Put it both together for long stretches and you're a wildcard contender
