Try using a washroom in the Bay downtown - that used to be a trip back to 1950, down to the quartz flake flooring and 50's quite porcelain fixtures in the hallways and staircases.
I'd also recommend checking out the old Sears at North Hill specifically (now a "Showroom Funiture"). Being an independent store you might have a better chance of filming. That and the inside of the place will easily take you back to 1950.

I grew up in that mall, we used to do our grocery shopping at the Allwest (I am pretty sure that was the name)

Oh man, I used to love San Francisco. I used to frequent that store as a kid growing up in Medicine Hat. Ah, the memories.

I bought a replica Zulu spear for my wife one Christmas at the one in Lethbridge. We do her Christmas shopping together now.

There's still a Giant Tiger in Calgary. I think those are all gone now. I think there's still one Sam the Record Man in Toronto.

I miss Bobs. Spent many lunchtimes there.
The foodcourt for what it was worth had the crappiest video-games but it didn't stop us dropping all our money in them.

Did they film some scenes from 'Better Call Saul' there?
Looks familiar from where old people were working out when he was doing elder law.
