Am I the only one bothered by the thought that there might be a 25% chance Oilers/Pens win 1st overall.
I don’t think I could forgive the NHL if one of them won it.
It just ain’t right.

Not to mention the Rags as well. They have enough young players spurn the teams that drafted them to sign with the Rangers, and also just UFA's in general. I mean, despite being a bottom dwelling rebuilding team they were STILL able to sign the highest profile UFA last off season and now he's up for the goddamn Hart trophy.
They certainly don't deserve to win the draft lottery and get Lafreniere.

This is honestly the least of my concerns. The Oilers are equal-opportunity young-kid-wreckers. Whether he is drafted first, 25th, 87th, or what have you, they are going to wreck him. Why should a top draft pick receive any elevated sympathy? Whether the Oilers win the draft-lottery or not, lives will be ruined. The best response would be to simply remove the Oilers from the Draft altogether.

still so pissed about this Lafreniere thing. Not a single team among those likely to crash out where I'll be happy for them.

I'd be good with seeing the Wild getting #1. Good hockey town, 2nd to last in their division, not already full with high end talent. Not perfect since they're in the WC and I prefer to see the top draft talent go east when it's not us getting it but I'd be pretty alright with the Wild getting Lafreniere.

Yeah Wild would be best option if they weren't in the west. I just really don't want Edmonton, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Winnipeg or the Rangers getting him.
Columbus would be my first choice, but they're probably going to win the play in now. Panthers would be OK too.

I also think Arizona has be screwed by the lottery many times. I believe they're one of the few teams in the league that haven't picked top 2.
They will probably beat Nashville, but if not, woo.

I won't mind Pittsburgh getting him. Keeps him out east and both Crosby and Malkin aren't exactly spring chickens. By time Lafreniere comes off his ELC both of them will be on the wrong side of 35.

How could you be pissed, it’s basically proving that there is no point tanking. This is good for the league.

Well, Flames stay at the 16th pick for the next two weeks and only goes down from there with every round they win. If we pick 31st, there's some real gems down there too. Big time boom.or bust types. But if they boom they go BOOM!

No way!
Edmonton and Pittsburgh are the last 2 places he should end up.

I think Minnesota would be the best landing spot for Laf.
They've got a hell of a dedicated fan base, and they've had no mentionable success since coming into the league.

Aren't the Flames locked into 16th unless they make the conference finals? We didn't win our division, so we're locked into drafting based on point % unless we make the conference finals (which would mean we're drafting 28th, 29th, 30th or...31st )...er I guess if there are upsets, we'd be drafting based on who got in and where they were point wise. Arizona advances and we're moved to 17th, and so on.

I would very much prefer him Pittsburgh over Edmonton. Any team out east (except for Toronto) works for me.
