Oh, but we can't forget his next proposed trade of JVR and a 6th for Rattie, Spooner, and a 2nd. This one is slightly more realistic just because of the 2nd. His reasoning is just...off.
Props to the commenters though for recognizing that the writer is an idiot. Everyone is calling him out: "Sure, let's do Parayko for a 3rd because he needs a change in scenery. And Lucic and a 4th for Matthews."

Hitch walking back his tough comments is more of the same from Edmonton. Instead of listening, they must have had a meeting with him on how his comments were unacceptable
The answer is in the room. Stop criticizing it, it's a great team Hitch.

I find this funny. Because its the NHL and not a Mighty Ducks movie.
Its the Pros. You cant just come together as a team and start winning, theres no tricks, every other team is just genuinely better than you.

Wow that oil on Whyte website is a flaming bag of feces. The delusional Carolina trades are just too much. Only from Edmonton.

...what?
You don't think playing better as a team makes for a more successful team?
I'm not suggesting there's answers in the room, and they're 'good teamwork' from being successful. It's funny that he's even losing sleep with this roster
It's more that even those comments were too much, and needed to be walked back. Or, he had a really passionate speech about his system. Either way, no good.

His 2018 material is browning quickly as well
Of course that would be a #### thing to say. Stuffing Wideman in a cannon would have been pretty offside too

Speak really loudly about the Flames and how E=NG. Talk about an article you read two years ago about how the Oilers had "passed" the Flames. Kick the seat in front of you few times while you do it.

I did thump his seat an extra time or two.
Overheard:
- The Russian goalie is not playing well and hasn’t been since before the holidays
- Any new GM prospect is surely going to call Chiarelli and probably get scared off
- Macllelan and Chiarelli are doing nothing right now. No irons in the fire
- one media guy (didn’t recognize him) said that Nichols will have to try to get the OBC to be more hands off. Spector said that’s Katz’s job and he should have done it by now.
Also, he’s an Expos fan so maybe he’s not all bad.

Denial has reached even academic levels.
Opinion: The numbers show fixing the Oilers is simple

Spector is so dumb. Mikko Koskinen is Finnish.

The Oilers never fully recovered from Andrej Sekera’s 2017 playoff injury, and it is high time management gives McDavid, Koskinen, and company a fighting chance, with a Sekera-type top-four defenceman.
|
A Top 4 D-Man is all they need to fix things? With a healthy Sekera, I suppose they would finally have four Top 4 D-Men...which would be great if they weren't all guys that should slot in as the #4 D-Man on a good team

Every team in the league would like to give up less goals, this isn't some amazing out of the box idea. Also, you have McDavid, one of the greatest offensive threats the game has ever seen, and your team strategy is to win close low scoring games? Too funny.

I'm sorry for your shame. On both counts.
Its not too late for you. There is time to realize that the Expos just arent a thing anymore.

The Oilers are the 24th-highest scoring team in the League. Their top-four goal-scorers have accounted for 97 goals. The entire rest of the roster has scored 59. The Oilers are manifestly flawed and require significant improvement at every position, but their most glaring weakness is easily their possession of the worst collection of forwards in the NHL.
