Bjork only has a $1.6M cap hit, so salary retained on Hall?

Obviously we can break down the deal into two separate trades
Lazar for a 2nd
Hall for Bjork

Leafs paid a premium for a 75% retained foligno though. That's beans.
Hall is 4m if max retained.

Curtis Lazar and Taylor Hall traded to Bruins for Anders Bjork and a 2nd

Seems like a good deal for the Bruins if Hall gets his game back.
Buffalo is so poorly run. Recency bias they are worse than the Oilers. You never go worse than the Oilers.

Poor Buffalo. Already suffering in the standings for so long and now their diminishing assets could only return a 2nd and an annoyingly “eclectic” anthem singer...

I was today years old when I learned Hall’s middle name is Strba. His mom’s middle name.

He didn’t do much to help his value. I think it’s a decent deal for everyone if he can produce in Boston. Buffalo got a 2nd rounder for a player they signed for free and will probably draft 1st overall due to the Taylor Hall curse. Hall got $8 million to do nothing so far and now he can chase a cup on a contender.

Per Darren Haynes Curtis Lazar has over twice as many goals as Taylor Hall.
This isn’t the Hall deal. This is the Lazar deal.

Haha I literally two hours ago texted my friend: “I’d love a great return, but this is Buffalo. We’ll barely move the needle in a deal for a second round pick and some tweener who will play in the fourth line for a season and then disappear.”
I hate being right about this crappy team every time.

What should he have done? He can’t create a bidding war when there isn’t teams willing to bid each other up.
Hall has 2 goals, and Buffalo has been awful all season.
The market is the market.
He bought a 2nd round pick by signing Hall to a 1-year deal. Seems pretty good to me.

Like you can’t tell me no one had a first round pick on the table for Taylor Hall when Nick Foligno and David frikkin Savard netted first rounders
