Someone needs to send these right-wingers the book Guns, Germs, and Steel when they talk about European heritage, shut them up.

Bolsonaro is going to learn real quick how the US handles “unfriendly” South American governments

Quote:
Brazil’s government, widely criticized by environmental groups as a negligent steward of the Amazon rainforest, has made an audacious offer to the Biden administration: Provide $1 billion and President Jair Bolsonaro’s administration will reduce deforestation by 40%.

House Democrats Pass Bill To Make D.C. The 51st State

https://www.npr.org/2021/04/22/98911...the-51st-state

Quote:
Now, with Democrats controlling the White House and the Senate, the effort to make D.C. the 51st star on the nation's flag has more support than ever before — even though it is unclear whether the measure has the backing of all 50 Democratic senators, let alone 60 votes in all, for it to pass in the Senate.

It passed the House on Thursday 216-208 along party lines.

Yes, it was briefly talked about in the appropriate thread. One user said they didn't care what she said, another user came down on her and another one said it was odd comments.

I think the silent majority thought her comments were stupid but not much to say beyond that as it was obvious so why post? If you're simply re-pointing out the double standard that occurs with Trump and her in that people would post more if he made a comment like this, I would argue that double standard is earned by him, which is only a defense of Pelosi in that she has a longer leash than Trump, which in my worldview, is not really giving her any credit at all.

But of course, this is an assumption and I can only speak for me. And you know what they say about assumptions.

Bill going after the progressive wing of his party as he does, this time for his perception that they are hypocrites when it comes to ageism.

So, I guess Bill Maher is getting up there, huh. "Be nicer to me and my fellow graybeards!"

Biden's approval isn't high because he's old, it's high because he's a reasonably competent politician who's following the worst #### show in the history of the country.

I do think it's a fair take though from Bill. Many predicted endless incidents of Biden stumbling through his sentences and it simply hasn't happened.

It took 64 days to hold his first press conference and the reporters handle him with kid gloves, his deficiencies are really being protected.

Ha if the criticism at Joe is it took 64 days to hold his first Presser... it just comes across as people digging deep to find something to hit him on, which is odd, there are reasons to hit him beyond this.

Biden's approval rating after 100 days is 52%. Which I think is good for a county this divided.

Most favorable issue: vaccine rollout
Least favorable issue: problems at the border

Problems at the border?? How is that his issue, he inherited that problem amongst a litany of others. He has alot of turds to cleanup and is starting with the biggest turds, he'll get there.

People will dislike solutions to a no-win scenario even if they know it's a no-win scenario. It's just the way of the world.

Because they were going to fix it "Day 1". The border situation is just as disgusting as Trump left it (perhaps worse with the influx of people) and it shouldn't be shrugged off, as real humans continue to suffer every day.
