Kisker says he just saw Gillies walking around normally. So hopefully a sign it isn't serious.

Huska says Gillies jammed a finger and had trouble holding his stick. Nothing major.

lol that San Diego water bottle got beat the F up in that highlight package.

Eat bread has a laser shot, and Kylington, Klimchuk & Angelidis also all picked some nice top corners.

If by terrible you mean amazing, then yes you're right. I'd take Brandon Kisker over Derek Wills any day of the week.

Eat bread looks like he could be a player. Nice to see the young guys light it up.

These highlights have been great to watch after some of the stinkers we've been seeing in the NHL. Lot's of skill and swagger on display throughout each game up and down the line-up.

We need some of that swagger on the Flames right now. Hopefully Shinkaruk can bring an ounce of excitement to rub off on the guys. I think Jooris was a great spark for the Flames when he entered the NHL and that's exactly what we need now.

Best part is we could call up 3 forwards and still have enough depth to blowout AHL games. When was the last time you could say that?

Compared to NHL announcers? Sure, but for a minor league radio announcer Kisker is actually really good and very knowledgeable. The guy that had for the Adirondack Flames I don't think knew a thing about hockey and was terrible.

Also some perspective here, Derek Wills was over the top and annoying when he was doing games for the Hamilton Bulldogs and when he got the call for an NHL gig he toned it down and is actually pretty good. Part of the minor league experience is the announcer trying to add excitement to the radio broadcast.

Kisker is perfectly awesome for Stockton

The Heat have 6 players, including 2 rookies, with at least a point a game. Also, Andersson and Kylington both have 6 points in 8 games on the point.

They lead the lead in goals for, now at a 4.60 GGP pace. Pretty impressive start.

Nice to see the offensive prospects putting up points, hopefully it continues as those are the assets to maximize.

Anyone know why Smith and Carroll aren't playing much?

Brandon Kisker is doing an AMA on Reddit at /r/calgaryflames right now if anyone wants to ask him questions.

so if Bouma is indeed out for a while, who gets the second callup? Would love to see Klimchuk being rewarded, but fully expect it to be Hathaway or Vey.

I was thinking about that too. I would expect Vey as he's producing pretty well and it lets the kids continue to develop and play big minutes down there. Defintely have some options though. Jankowski, Klimchuck, mangiapane are all deserving.

I do wonder if they even look at Bollig? I would hope not, but maybe they call him up to try to get some energy on the team.

Bollig is done at the NHL level and rightfully so. He's done really well for himself, earning more than $4m in his career and winning a Stanley Cup ... that's a fantastic career for a pure enforcer in today's NHL. But it's over. Recalling him over any of the talented prospects would be insane.

Bollig is not a pure enforcer, he wasn't even used as one until the Flames acquired him. He was never more than a grinder, but he killed penalties in Chicago.

Calling up Bollig would run the risk of demoralizing the kids that are playing better than he is right now.

Bollig had even more fights in Chicago (19 in 125 games) than in Calgary (14 in 116 games) and saying he killed penalties is "a bit" of a stretch. Bollig averaged 13 seconds per game on the PP in 2013/14, which was 10th among Hawks forwards.

I thought he played more PK time than that, but I guess I was wrong. But 29 fights in 341 games is hardly a "pure enforcer" as you claimed. Also the difference in fights between hicago and Calgary has much to do with changes in teh games as well since fighting has dropped drastically the last couple years.
