Yikes, imagine having this terrible of an opinion

Norm isn’t for everybody but when you ask a comedian who their favourite comedian is, many will say Norm.

I've never seen a comedian so revered by his peers without having the success to go with it. Very special. Norm's career and following is very obvious when you hear him speak to his passion over the years.

He cares about standup and doesn't care that much about everything else in the industry. That's how you can have Letterman and every other major hitter call him the funniest comedian in the world while he tours mid to small size comedy clubs continuously...It's where he wants to be, it's what he loves to do.

He will not do a single thing to further his career other than be exactly who he wants to be and tell jokes exactly how he wants to tell them at any point in time. I respect the hell out of that and agree with him being the funniest comedian on the planet.

I loved when he went back to host SNL like a year after he was fired and (paraphrasing) was like "I was fired from this show for not being funny enough, and now I'm back to host? Did I all of a sudden get really funny? Then I realised, I didn't get any funnier, the show has just gotten really really bad"

Something of an aside, I like Norm's material and style and I like him as a comedian, but I've seen him live twice and both times he was so drunk he could barely stand and slurred and stumbled through his material.

I'm not opposed to a comic having a few drinks pre-show, in fact I think its one of the few industries where it might be an asset, but you still have to be able to do the show.

I'll be sticking with 'Recorded Norm.'

That being said, his OJ vendetta was absolutely hilarious. Norm is completely fearless.

Dirty Work is a classic. So bad, yet so good.

I was at the top of the world trade centre when they announced the verdict. Remember some of the staff cheering when we emerged from the elevator back at ground floor. Weird times.

Hell, I remember in elementary school during recess we started cheering and singing OJ songs in 'celebration' of the verdict.

We're gonna kill on OJ day, OJ day, OJ day. We're gonna kill on OJ day so early in the morning

I still remember that tune in my head. Kids were high-fiving each other. WTF. Weird times.

Dude totally did it and only a complete moran could look at the evidence and think he's innocent. A complete bubbling on the LA prosecutor's part ensured he was a free man.

Probably has more to do with his audience...

"Let,s see, who am I doing this for tonight? The Accountants Association of Canada? Really? Again? OK, I'm gonna need a few stiff drinks. Ya, more. Little more. More. Bit more. OK, now bring me 3 of these every 15 minutes."

This clip is great but the bit Norm starts at around 3:40 is pure gold. Such a big build to great punchline.

Also this thread turned out better than one would expect a thread about OJ to.

Today is the 9,390 day anniversary of the People v. Simpson verdict and the 1,356 day anniversary of OJ being released from prison.

I remember watching the chase and thinking he was probably just going to kill himself before the cops ever got to him. And if he didn't kill himself he was going to jail for a long, long time.

Wrong and wrong.
