I know of Ric's reputation as "Doctor No" in the past, but I have to hold out hope that he funds infrastructure that we need moving forward and not just "Well, we don't need it now, so we're not spending the money." At a municipal level, Al Duerr left Calgary with quite an infrastructure deficit that cost a fortune to catch up on, and I hope Ric doesn't follow the same playbook at a provincial level.
Was Ric in charge when they kept putting off doing anything for the Ft Mac highway upgrade?

I don't think so. He said he would proclaim it right away, not that he would use it immediately.

Last Friday, he reiterated his pledge to publish Bill 12, which empowers the Alberta government to cut oil supplies to BC. and the rest of Canada.
Earlier, he said: fewn Within one hour of being sworn, we will hold a cabinet meeting and the first item on the agenda will be the publication of Bill 12, the turn-to-tap legislation. ”

I was not sure if you were asking rhetorically, or if you were genuinely asking.

I didn't know the answer either way, so I did a quick search and came up with this:

Premier Alison Redford announced an accelerated timeline for the project in 2012 after a particularly high-profile crash killed seven people; all work was completed in 2016. Alberta has long-term plans to create a divided highway for the entire length of the Edmonton–Fort McMurray corridor by similarly upgrading the southernmost 110 kilometres (68 mi) of the highway, a portion of Highway 28, and the entirety of Highway 28A.

Ric also sat on the Treasury Board and the Government Operations Committee.

So to me, it would be safe to assume 'probably not' unless you're referring to a delay between 2012 and 2016, which I'm personally not aware of. That doesn't stop me from being concerned either way.

He was in charge when they painted nonsensical lines in the McKenzie Towne traffic circle and added road signs that are for a 4 exit circle, even though ours is a 5 exit circle. So I'm skeptical

Also, Jason Luan, our new Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, was quoted in Chinese blog as saying homosexuality was choice, LGDPQ (yes, that's how he spelled it) is a "trend", and these are just special rights that impose the desire of a small number of people on the majority.

Cool.

Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction: Grant Hunter
Article didn't provide background info.

That sounds like a Doug Ford thing.

Grant Hunter was appointed as the Associate Minister of Red Tape Reduction on April 30, 2019. Relying on his own experience as an entrepreneur, Hunter will target unnecessary and burdensome over-regulation that currently weighing job-creators down, while empowering entrepreneurs, and business owners to invest in Alberta and create jobs in this province.

Does anyone have any idea specifically what sorts of things they will be targeting? ( this is a genuine question).

I agree - smearing people with made-up charges, then continuing to assert them after they've been disproven by repeating "accused" as if it means anything, is indeed pretty appalling.

I don't even know if Nixon is a terrible person, or if he should be kept out of cabinet, I don't really have any strong opinions on that topic... but this kind of bald-faced dishonesty is just so obnoxious. Flames0910, I hereby accuse you of murder and distribution of child pornography. God forbid anyone employs someone like you ever again, that would be "appalling".

Seems like a good fiscally conservative thing to do. Eliminate special treatment, remove duplicate services and costs, cut red tape!

Perhaps the new 'Minister of Red Tape Reduction' can work to eliminate organized religion altogether then.

New math formula for upcoming revised math program in Alberta:

Lagrange + Catholic-driven pro-life beliefs = TMX

Will be implemented in all Alberta math books as early as this fall. 40% of final exams are weighted in favor of the "Carl Freidrich Gauss' New Bitumen Formula" Strategy.

Don't forget new standardized multiplication formulas of JOBS X PIPELINES = compounding amounts of Subway meat for you to enjoy.
