The darkness is probably due to the clouds in addition to the smoke. The past few days have been clear skies.

I think the answer is clear. We plant mint within the boreal forests of BC so that Alberta can get that menthol smooth smoke.

In the top photo, the houses look clear but you can barely see anything in the distance. In the bottom, you can quite clearly see trees in the distance, but the whole photo looks kind of hazy.

That's kind of what I noticed. I can see out to Skyview Ranch (which I couldn't on previous days) but it smells a lot smokier when I open the door.

I do wonder if the BC's most famous crop is being affected by the fires...

What's the going rate for BC bud these days. Is it going up due to lack of supply ?

if it was affected, we'd probably be a LOT less uptight about the smoke.

"Quick, burn some hair!"

I can't even take a picture out of my office window it is so dark. All I get is a reflection of the inside, even with the lights off.

Gotta be 10+ AQI right now. Burns the eyes even after a few minutes outside.

From what I understand, the major producers use large greenhouses on farm lards. These areas aren't near the forest fires.
Having said that, no idea is there's an effect on sunlight levels, transportation etc.

The apocalypse will truly be here when you see your neighbour eating the magpies that ate the rabbit.

Screw that, we air drop some cows and chickens over BC. It would be the ultimate subliminal advertising campaign for McDonalds and KFC, and several tons of the secret 11 herbs and spices.

Dude 1 - "This smoke is bad, it must be a 10+"

Dude 2 - "Yeah but that smell"

Dude 1 - "McDonalds?"

Dude 2 - "KFC?"
