Bojo fires Brussels Brexit negotiation team, reducing it down to just four staff right before parliament is to be suspended. He really is trying to force Brexit to happen in the worst possible way with zero contingencies.

Well.

There is that historical anecdote about the stubborn and plucky Brit and this seems to more or less adhere to that stereotype.

They said they'd do it, no matter how badly planned or just overall a disastrous idea it may have turned out to be, By God they'll do it!

Liberal Democrats announce they will cancel Brexit entirely should they be elected in the coming election.

Quote:
The Liberal Democrats have pledged to cancel Brexit if they come to power at the next general election.

Members voted for the new policy at their party conference in Bournemouth by an overwhelming majority.

Previously, the party has backed another referendum or "People's Vote", saying they would campaign to Remain.

After the vote, their leader Jo Swinson, said: "We will do all we can to fight for our place in Europe, and to stop Brexit altogether."

The commitment only comes into force if the party wins the election as a majority government.

Meanwhile Bojo apparently wants to prorogue parliament again if Conservatives lose the court challenge to revoke article 50 (brexit).

Interesting strategy. I wonder how that would play out. Is that cancelling Brexit by proxy? No need for a second referendum vote? Would that mean it’s permanently cancelled or the next time some nutwing party gets into power they will just start it up again?

It would start again a few years or so down the road, my guess is at this point even though the kippers are utterly devoid of reason even they would welcome it being cancelled right now, nothing has gone the way they were told it was going to go, the UK looks (because it is) a laughingstock, they would grumble about the loss of democracy but I don't think anyone would actually be sorry.

Farage and co would keep on coining it by selling the evil EU to the numpties and there is a strong strain of anti German jealous resentment in the UK which they would keep stoking, that said this has been such a shambles I can also see even the most rabid kippers thinking twice about opening it up again.
