Coric over Shapo and that's that.
Here's to hoping the team is healthy in the fall to play for the right to stay in the World Group.

I think so too. The team just needs to get a healthy roster for 1-2 years so they can develop a steady plan of action instead of just rolling with whoever is healthy.
Shapo/Raonic as the prime singles options for the next three or four ties. Pospisil/Polansky/Felix as the extras and potential doubles guys would provide some quality depth at these events.

Interesting news from Djokovic over the weekend, I don't know how this affects the rest of his season. I'm still holding out hope that one day he returns 100% but it's looking like this year could be a struggle again

Felix just won his first match of 2018 (he has been out with a knee injury).

Genie went to the Super Bowl with her twitter date from last year. That's so funny. Apparently this is now the 3rd date. At least.

Federer has accepted a wild card entry at Rotterdam which starts next week in hopes to become world #1. It will be interesting to see if he also plays Dubai as IIRC he has a place in Dubai and normally always participates in the tournament. Could be interesting to see if he does reach #1 how long it lasts and he has a lot of points to defend in IW and Miami so Nadal could just as easily re-take it in a month.

it's going to be wacky. if Fed gets to the semis, he's #1 until Indian Wells if Rafa does a bit better this year. then he may have to hand it back if he doesn't utterly dominate all clay events, but then could take it again with a better showing at Wimbledon. finally, it may come back to Roger at USO. after that, who knows what shape these guys will be in to close out the fall hardcourts.
maybe Shapovalov will just run the table from here on out and decide the race for them.

Both FAA and Vasek are playing in Budapest this week, if they each win their next match, they will take to the court as opponents.

One up and one down as far as the Canadian lads are concerned in Budapest today - Felix lost, but Vasek won.

Well, not a sterling performance from Vasek, but a win is a win (6-4 4-6 6-3) and into the semi-finals.

Tough go for the ladies in the Fed Cup, as they are down 0-2 after the first day of singles action.

Pospisil will play 17-year-old Nicola Kuhn in the final, who upset top seed Marton Fucsovics in the other semi-final 6-3, 7-6(5).
And speaking of Kuhn, he and Felix Auger-Aliassime reached the double’s final after a dominant 6-4, 6-2 win over Godry/Nagy. This is Auger-Aliassime’s first ATP Challenger final in doubles – he won two singles titles in 2017, making him one of the youngest men in history to win a Challenger title.
Go Vasek and Go Felix!

Thanks for the updates on Canadian players, I admit I don't follow them too closely, but always hoping they do well .

Fed Cup update:
Nice job by our ladies to get a win in doubles today over Romania. Gaby and Carol beat Bogdan/Olaru 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.
On another note, Rebecca Marino won her second-straight title. A 15K in Turkey. Her journey back has been an inspiring one.
