Updates from across the pond - 10 matches in 10 days was just too much for Felix as he retired from his final qualification match down a set and trailing love-3 in the second set.
Better news for Vasek and Peter Polansky however - Vasek won his opening round match in Antwerp and will face Milos in his next match. As for Peter, he won his final qualifying match to make the Stockholm Open main draw (Shapo is also playing in Stockholm this week).
/Genie Bouchard also qualified for the Luxemborg Open main draw.
Edit: I just checked the updated Stockholm draw and Peter will face Denis in round 1.
Edit #2: Felix retired due to a blister on his foot.

Poor Delpo fractured his knee cap (Ouch) so he is out for the rest of the season and probably the start of next. I feel so bad for him, he would have been a multiple slam winner if not for injuries. If there was a one game match that I had to put my life savings on I would chose a healthy Delpo over Murray or Wawrinka.

I was watching that match and it was a slip at the back of the court, it didn't really look that bad, but obviously it was. Such a shame that his career continues to be de-railed by injury.

A nice win for Genie Bouchard at the Luxembourg Open - After going through qualifying to make the main draw, she dispatched Timea Babos (currently ranked #63 in singles) 6-4 6-2

Shapo ousts Peter Polansky in Stockholm, but it wasn't easy (6-3 5-7 7-5)

Upset alert as Vasek takes the first set over Milos at the European Open in Antwerp in a tie-breaker (7-3 was the tie-breaker score).

Vasek serving for the match as he breaks Milos in the 11th game of set 2 and leads 6-5.
Edit: Anything is Pospisil closes it out in short order.

Genie advances into the Luxembourg Open semi-finals as her opponent Andrea Petkovic was forced to retire with an injury. Petkovic had won the opening set 6-4, but Genie was leading 4-0 in set 2 when Petkovic retired.

Pretty lackluster tennis from Denis as he drops the first set 6-2 to Gulbis. It probably hasn't helped that the previous match (Isner vs. Klahn) was a marathon were all three sets went to tie-breakers.

Denis played better in set 2, but one loose service game was all that Gulbis needed to get a break and win set 2 6-4 and take the match.

Looking forward to Friday's match in Antwerp between Vasek and Gael Monfils. Pops has been playing some good tennis this week and Monfils had a tough match against Tsonga today so I'm giving Vasek a fighting chance at the upset.

I appreciate the kind words Jack. Hopefully people don't think I'm spamming the board too much with these tennis updates, it's an exciting time for Canadian tennis (I cant remember a time when we had so many good stories as well as future potential).

Brayden Schnur advances at the ATP Challenger event in Calgary (nice win over Adrián Menéndez Maceiras who is ranked 115 places higher than Brayden). 4-6 6-2 7-6 were the set scores.

I don't have an issue with allowing coaching on the women's tour (or the men's tour for that matter), if it makes for better matches and potentially better entertainment, count me in.

Genie's run comes to an end in Luxembourg as she loses in three sets to Julia Goerges (6-7 7-5 6-1 were the set scores). Genie was actually serving for the match at 5-4 in the second set. Still, a pretty good tourney that guarantees direct entry into the Aussie Open for Genie.
