Slayer is calling it a career, one more tour. They're here May 19, but in the ####tiest venue (Big Four). Quite the lineup, LAMB OF GOD, ANTHRAX, BEHEMOTH, TESTAMENT.

The Big Four venue really sucks. I heard they made some improvements, but as long as those pillars are there, what can be improved?

Just ordered a ticket, but #### that's expensive for Slayer and a bunch of bands I don't care about.

Hope they at least play more old stuff. Last time I saw them it was probably almost half Repentless songs, which are ok, but definitely not the songs I was hoping to see.

yeah they were pretty pricey. I have to disagree this show is stacked. I am almost more pumped to see Testament again than slayer.

If your not a fan, but want to get into them for cash value on your ticket I recommend this album.

I don't mind Testament, I saw them with Slayer last time they were in Calgary. I'm sure they'll be good again, but I don't actively listen to them.

Lamb of God and Behemoth absolutely don't interest me though. I'd rather have Anthrax.

hooked on Ghost Brigade lately ... just another brilliant band from Scandinavia. There must be something in the water up there.

I was never big into Slayer, but was gonna go to this show just because. Sucks Anthrax wont be playing, they are a killer live band. Pretty tough to beat Testament, dont think Ill go to this one though.

My "big four" is Testament, Overkill, Kreator, Demolition Hammer.

Glenn Tipton has been diagnosed with Parkinson's.

Quote:
Ten years ago Glenn was diagnosed to have the onset of the early stages of Parkinson’s - from then until recently Glenn has lived his life as the great heavy metal guitar player he has always been, maintaining by his own definition a standard of quality and performance that is incredibly important.

Right now Glenn is able to play and perform some of the Priest songs that are less challenging but due to the nature of Parkinson's progression he wants to let you all know that he won't be touring as such -

True to the metal spirit of 'the show must go on' Glenn has requested Andy Sneap to fly the flag on stage for him

“I want everyone to know that it’s vital that the Judas Priest tour go ahead and that I am not leaving the band - it’s simply that my role has changed. I don’t rule out the chance to go on stage as and when I feel able to blast out some Priest! So at some point in the not too distant future I’m really looking forward to seeing all of our wonderful metal maniacs once again”

Rob, Richie, Ian and Scott have this to say:

“We have been privileged to witness Glenn’s determination and steadfast commitment over the years, showing his passion and self belief through the writing, recording and performing sessions with Priest - he is a true metal hero! We are not surprised by Glenn’s insistence that we complete the Firepower tour and thank Andy for joining us to make Glenn’s wishes become real - As Glenn has said we also can’t wait to have him with us at any time any place on the road..... We love you Glenn!”

been on a Katatonia binge lately. Not sure I'd even call them metal apart from the early days, but they are brilliant. Sadly they've now gone on hiatus.

also stoked for the upcoming Amorphis album.

Just gonna post some sweet live music.

If you don't listen to King Diamond or Mercyful Fate, you should.

Ghost has been mentioned a bunch of times, but they deserve the accolades. This is very light metal, I can get away with playing it around my wife.
