Yup. Round robin, seven-game format. Each team plays the other once and then a knockout stage.
The league is going to emulate what the NWSL is doing in Utah with the Challenge Cup.
And it would take something significant for it not to take place in Victoria.

My understanding is that OneSoccer was shipping their gear there weeks ago.

My main concern is half the teams (I believe HFX, Pacific, Valour, and York) are back to training, while our guys are on the sidelines. Could be a big advantage if the other teams don't get to start training soon.
Could be some real upsets if the usual suspects (Cavs and Forge) are slow out of the gate.

Wow, good on the supporters group.
Now I have confused feelings towards them.

Apparently the league and players have agreed on what a 2020 season will look like. This article then goes on to not at all detail what a 2020 season will look like.
Quote:
Today, the Canadian Premier League together with its owners, clubs and player leadership unanimously agreed on the structure and concept of a proposed strategy on the possibility of a 2020 CPL season.

If I'm being honest, I'm a little frustrated that our supporters group has been trying to put pressure on resolving these racism allegations, with little or no buy in from any other supporters groups in the country. Suddenly the supporters in Hamilton release a statement doing the same, and other supporters groups are suddenly jumping in to support the cause.

That is understandable, but it is better late than never.

While I don't closely follow what's happening with OneSoccer or its pundits, PEI is making a major pitch (no pun), but I just can't imagine them getting the nod over Victoria.
No doubt it would be neat to have it in Charlottetown, but with so many BC/Western Canadian-based players, along with an established and knowledgable CanPL fanbase in Victoria, the decision seems just a formality at this point.

If they do this in Victoria they had better raise that camera with a lift. The current angle is "high school production class records football game for the lunchtime highlights broadcast".

This is critical. Sub-par camera work and bad angles can make-or-break the ratings for this season. I hope OneSoccer and the CPL go all in to take it up to professional-level camera infrastructure. PFC games are the worst to watch because of it.

There's no way the CPL would choose to host the games there and not improve the broadcast? Right? Right?

The reason the camera angle was where it was in Victoria last season was to show the stands.
With no fans in attendance, they should be able to move the lift-operated cameras to the opposite side of the field. Although this is coming from someone who has absolutely no experience when it comes to rigging broadcast equipment.

But Calgary had the camera on it's own as well and lifted it with a scissor lift and showed the crowd perfedctly. They didn't need to have it at eye level to show the crowd.

The camera angle was because of an (infamous?) hydro pole. It was supposed be removed this year but no clue if that came to fruition because of the pandemic.

Remember to vote to have the CPL in EA's FIFA21 game in the survey below!
https://www.fifplay.com/fifa-21-leagues-vote/
(It's called the Canadian League in the survey.)
Obviously this isn't a be-all-end-all survey for EA, but it shows support nonetheless. Everything helps!
