I don't know where Podunk is, but that is approximately correct!
Not sure that this person would want to be outed here, but I know for sure that you've read their posts!

Yep, it's definitely in the Podunk area. And soon we will have a school-board trustee as well...

Is it okay to demand a bribe if I'm French?
I'm not French, but I want to be bribed anyways.

Well I've been out campaigning hard. I've stood on a lot of doorsteps, gone to a lot of school functions and spent a number of hours at C-train stations. Pretty clearly I hope that your prediction rings true!

Not to rain on your parade, but does golf seem like the type of activity that screams "for the people". Not that the game isn't probably more up the alley of who would be your potential voters.

If there had been mud wrestling between the Stamps cheerleaders and the Roughnecks cheerleaders, I would be there.

You're running in my riding. Are you unopposed?

There's four people running in Ward 11 for Public School trustee (incumbent is not running). Two of them I suspect are closet Oilers fans (especially that Sheila Taylor). Can't have that kinda thing poisoning our childrens' minds. That's why I'm voting for Slava! He'll bring a strong, Flames-based curriculum to our schools.

No, unfortunately not unopposed. I have heard that as many as 7 people might run here. There are at least a couple of people here who don't live in the wards, and I suspect are running here because they don't think they could beat the incumbent where they live (what other reason is there, really?).
I have been finding really good support so far, and working hard. I've come to the conclusion that I will have to work really hard and hope for a little luck. With these races its all name recognition and I will do what I can in that regard, but focus on hard work and a grassroots campaign instead of spending the most money.
Anyway, if you have specific questions or concerns let me know. I'm going to say PM me just to keep this thread for its original purpose (which isn't mine to derail!)...I have no problem discussing things openly or having everyone see what I think, but don't know that a thread is warranted at this point.
Oh, and we should just assume that a couple of my opponents are greasy oiler fans! I can't actually back that up, but we should err on the side of caution with this!

Can't you just move? It would help me out and we could have lots to talk about in the Real Estate Predictions thread!

Thanks for that, I love Carlin.

On a related note though, on Thursday night I went on a homeless tour. Very enlightening experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who gets a chance.
Additionally, the Highland course has been in decline. The driving range has been closed for a number of years. The community and city have long debated what to do with the land. Affordable housing and/or seniors complex is something I would be in favor of.

What's your position on consensual, schoolyard sex between a 16 year old boy and a 12 year old girl? If several individuals on this form are an indication, the voting public may see this as nothing more than "kids will be kids".

What you're trying to bait me into here has nothing to do with the school board.
