Really odd that the Flames would put up a stinker like this when they would only be 2 points out if they won, with a game left against the team ahead of them.

Just not sure what's going on to see an effort like this.

Thank god for PBS and their programming. I’m watching a documentary about how black woman demonstrated and organized to demand welfare reform. There are so many more meaningful discussions and stories to follow instead of the entitled divas that the CESC employs to be a “hockey” team.

With how bad the team is and how bad the officials are and how bad the new arena deal will be for the city I don’t know how much more time I have for this org. Y’all are the real mvps. Except the few on my ignore list. Those ones are the evil ugly step sisters of Cinderella.

My point was the Flames should rebuild and accumulate young assets. This team, with a bunch of senior citizens, will never be a Stanley Cup contender. A new coach probably gets them in the playoffs next year but they don’t make any noise. Year after (when they lose half their players on expiring 2024 contacts) they miss the playoffs. That is the future for this group of old guns.

Best team in the NHL since the ASB...improved the goaltending and D. Built for playoffs IMO. They could easily come out of the West.

It’s so sad how obvious it is… and yet… Montreal has that extra pick we collected from Florida… which will be pick 16-20 in a deep draft…

I don't know how the Flames can continue with coach or GM beyond this season. What a disaster. Hard to put into words how disappointing and demoralizing this season has been. The only thing that would make it worse is Treliving leaving for Sutter to take over GM, and I think Treliving is objectively one of the worst GMs in the League so that's saying something.

Oh, sports fandom.

Loaded up on a bunch of young players 36 months apart in age, kept a couple vets from the Stanley Cup days to mentor and signed a couple key UFA’s and made a trade for a young PPG player by giving up an asset not in their age group of the players that are about 36 months apart.

How do you know a pick two years from now will be 16-20?

Yes, we already got rid of a 2007 birth year high end prospect to get Kadri. Maybe we can make that up by making smart trades with our 6 expiring contracts next year over this summer and at the deadline next year.

This season has been one gut punch after another. It’s the only thing that has been consistent.

top 5 market too...Flames would have Gaudreau, Fox, Tkachuk, more in a better market

makes things a tad easier

and in a "deep draft"

we don't need to make stuff up for maximum outrage

We don't even know if its the Panthers pick being given up yet

Sure, that may have mattered to Edler and Danault (they’re only two UFA signings). But good teams do not build through UFA.
