That was a fantastic game - beautiful goals from both sides.
I'm buzzing - I just don't know where this season has come from, but I'll take it.
I just want to say something about Marcus Rashford though - he is a fantastic footballer, his goal was a beauty - just unstoppable. I don't know how much this has made the news there, but he is also a wonderful person. He has never forgotten where he came from and he shamed the government into providing for our poorest children.
A great man.

Just finished watching on delay.
What a game!! Everything a great match should be.
I was hoping for 4 points out of Spurs & United. To get 6 and have City only get 3 from the same fixtures is amazing.

Saka is either already world class or hes about to take the leap to it
Rashford isnt far behind in this form
KDB, Haaland, kane, salah, casemiro?
Am I missing anyone in premier league who you could say is legitimately world class, could walk into any team in the world?
No one else in the league I think is there off the top of my head
VVD has dropped off this year
No one at chelsea
Son maybe before the last 6 months
Cancelo and Robertson maybe?

Martin Odegaard is probably player of the season right now (or Haaland).
I think him, Saka & Rashford all need a few consistent seasons of brilliance before saying that though.

Lampard should try to manage in the MLS or something like that. He's just not good enough for the Prem.

No love for Mitrovic and what he's proved for the past 1.5 years in carrying Fulham to where they are?

Not yet for me. Consistently amongst the elite, is the difference for me. But he's trending to be. Akin to a first 12 months Bruno, and for the smaller clubs, he's performing like Toney, and carrying like Ward Prowse (in the past).
He's talismanic for sure, and whom I've eyed for United. I fear he goes to Arsenal where he'd put them well over the top... (hopefully he's the maggies version tho)

I thought about odegaard, hes been excellent, even going back bac to last season
He just plays in the position with probably the best players in the world, attacking midfielder is just stacked,,so the level is higher

Ornstein says Kane wants to stay and is open to a new deal, they have discussions planned for after the transfer window shuts
I'm kinda shocked, would be great though, especially if the poch rumors are true

yeah it was basically football's version of NHL teams circumventing the salary cap with heavily front-loaded contracts.

They are starting to remind me of Man U a few years ago where they seem to just be senselessly buying players looking like a chicken with their head cut off.
When I saw the Madueke deal (I like the player but 30 mil for a guy with that kind of production in Eredivisie?) right after they spent 80 mil or whatever on a different winger and tons of money on Felix with Ziyech, Sterling and a host of other wide attacking midfielders in the squad it just seemed completely brainless. Hard to understand how they will find playing time for all of these players. Unless they are just trying to keep players like Madueke from mid table teams as he had been rumored to be heading to Palace for a year or so?
Also re their FFP circumvention, glad to see it cut out, but wouldn't they be handcuffing themselves from spending money in future years with this approach they have taken almost like buying out a contact in the NHL that counts against the cap for many years?

Bizarre. Is this more sound career advice from his brother? Where's the ambition? We know he should surpass Shearer's goals records as others have pointed out, but could have also surpassed his club trophy haul.

I think at this point what does more for his legacy...going and chasing a title with a Man City (not starting ahead of Haaland), maybe winning a title with Man U (more ambitious than Spurs but questionable if they would even pony up with ownership change coming), guess he could go to Liverpool but they just spent a bunch of money on Nunez too.
I don't think Chelsea or Arsenal would be options.
So from a legacy perspective staying at Tottenham and solidifying himself as their best player ever, and "the one that stayed" might actually be the best bet. Break the goals record in that jersey too and say you did it all for one team.

Ya I think legacy is it, for him 1 trophy at spurs would probably mean more than 5 at city and he wants to back himself to do it
I still think it could go either way that he stays or goes, but that's my guess for the pull of tottenham
If I were him though I'd want in writing that Levy will spend x amount of dollars to match his ambition
I do think hed start at city though, playing deeper than haaland. Hes much more of a pep player, I think if you asked pep who would make his team better this year its kane, fits much better in his system.

Guardian doing their top 100 players list this week
https://www.theguardian.com/football...box=1674555943
Full list will be done by friday, 100 to 71 today
They have a huge amount of people voting so I usually find it's a pretty good list, although looking at last year mason mount at 27.... yikes

Ornstein saying Danjuma to spurs on loan is happening
Pretty good scoring record as a left winger before this season, at virrareal and bournemouth
Basically replacing lucas as a wide forward
