I also think ten Hag was pragmatic enough to know that trying to make it work with Ronaldo for one more season was in his best interest. The club was light in attack, given that Rashford and Martial both suffered from bad form as well as injuries ... and they lost Greenwood for reasons that were totally out of their control. The striker market was also difficult this summer and they needed to spend money elsewhere in the squad anyway, so if you want to delay the signing of a striker until 23, working with Ronaldo just makes total sense. Even if he's an egomaniac, even if his legs are gone. Ten Hag really did everything to cater to him, even when he disrespected the club by not showing up for the tour and then leaving a preseason tour early after getting subbed off at half time. But enough is enough and ten Hag is handling this the right way.

I hope this sad chapter is somehow coming to an end in January. Then throw a boatload of money at Lille for Jonathan David.

I had to check their wages. Their whole squad is €650k/week vs Ronaldo at €500k.. would indeed be ambitious.

Ronaldo walks.
Truss quits.
And now Slippy gone.

Bilic won the first game, but has since lost three out of four ... if Truss had held on for another week or so, she might have tied May!

That Henderson is a pretty good keeper.
Forest are going to bleed a lot of goals from set pieces this season.

Sums up Liverpool's season pretty well to go from beating the best team in the league to losing to the worst in the same week.

Tough spot for Liverpool right now. The old guys have almost all lost a step, and the young guys aren’t at the same level. Going to require some big investment to stay at the top.

United haven’t lost to Chelsea over their last 9 games. Not since 2017.
Keep it going!

All that money for Antony and he hasn't a right foot.

Maybe swap him and Sancho. Neither getting decent ball into the box.

Four points dropped deep in injury time at home for Chelsea might come back to haunt them later in the year.

Casemiro salvages a point, but man that didn’t look like it fully crossed the line.

That is one hell of a header!
Casemiro and Martinez. Two players with an edge to them, no quit and that hate losing. Exactly what the club needs.

Did they show the Hawkeye view? I might’ve missed it.

Either way, great to see Chelsea drop points in injury time!
