Maybe Sony buys Konami's gaming division for their IPs, and Konami can just go full blown into their pachinko business.
Konami would be a great acquisition - so many cool IPs going to waste there. I'd be really nervous about their arcade division though because I want their rhythm gaming section to keep going!
That is not true, Switch lite can't play games that don't support handheld mode. These games are:
1-2-Switch
Just Dance (all of them)
Super Mario Party
Fitness Boxing
Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise
Ring Fit Adventure
Nintendo Labo (all sets)
Also, how would Switch lite be a "Home Console" and not a "Handheld"?
So a dozen game out of thousands? In the same vein, I think most people consider the DSi a DS, a New 3DS a 3DS, and so on, even though there were some games that needed the newer system. (For the record, I don't like that Nintendo does this, but it's never been enough of a difference to matter) I agree that the handheld only changes things a bit, but ultimately it's the same chipset and games being plugged into the system, and the Switch by nature straddles the line between home and portable as it is.
This is terrible! Why not just put the money in to their own studios!!!
Nice pick up for Sony. Give's them a strong FPS developer in the group and allows for more of the already in use, Sony exclusive content for Destiny moving forward. IE (Guns, Raids, Dungeons, Strikes, etc)
I also assume with this purchase they will announce that Destiny 2 and all expansions will be free on Project Spartacus.
I know you were joking, but as far as I have read, Sony isn't making Destiny a Sony exclusive and is leaving Bungie to remain independent.
Sony does need someone to help them with their free to play games however...They need that in order to capitalize on monetization and continuous games, which is not something Sony 1st party studios do often or do well.
I am not a fan of acquisitions, but unfortunately consolidation is happening. Even Sony, who resisted it, choosing only developers whom they had worked with on multiple titles to acquire, now buying Bungie.

I'm still expecting a lot of people to scream when the price is unveiled...but yeah, I'm excited about this.
If it's $600 or under it's a pre-order from me. I've been patiently waiting for a real next-gen VR headset for years now, and this appears to be it. Plus there are rumors that since it's a single USB connection with no external tracking that PSVR2 might be PC/Steam compatible. Sony would immediately be the kings of VR if that's true
I'm seeing people whining about how it's not wireless like the Quest 2 so they aren't going to get it. They don't realize the Quest 2 is pretty much a tablet you put on your face while the PS VR2 runs off of the PS5.
There is AirLink for PCVR but I've heard even people with good connections say it's inconsistent and they prefer wired.
