They only have 3 more wins than Calgary so the Flames definitely shouldn't be throwing in the towel...especially at home

Flames should be a little more ready for tonight. Gonna be a great game!

Didn't care too much about the caps loss really. That game had L marked all over it. And it was still a one goal game. IDC who you are, 3 games in 4 nights is tough. Add in the external perspectives of the previous 2 games with COL (Barometer game) and the Oil (BoA) , there wasn't much more gas left in the GAF meter and they still played to a 1 goal loss.

This team hasn't been blown out all year or if they have its been extremely rare. It's a good team.

Tough opponent. I think they're up to the challenge though.

Expecting a strong game from Coleman.

Still irritates me how spoiled dumb Tampa Bay fans have been. What's their fan base beyond those that go the games? A few hundred?

I think that if you could fill that 2nd line hole and put Dube on the Backlund line, that would be sufficient. The question becomes... what 2nd line center can be had for a reasonable price at a very low cap hit. Maybe if the cap hit is low enough you keep Monahan around as an extra or rotating in with Ruzicka on the 4th line.

And this will unfortunately never change. A big part of TB's success is a result of the luxury provided to that management group to work in obscurity. The same thing could never happen in a Canadian market.

This is the big point. You have to upgrade or it makes no sense. And to do that at a decent price and salary you need to find someone who is underused on another team and is better than their position, and then hope that any success they have in a limited role on another team translates here. Sure, a guy like Hertl is an upgrade but availability and/or price will be a huge issue. Then you get a bunch of names that I'm not convinced are an actual upgrade on an objective basis. There's a lot of "grass is greener" analysis on some of the names I've seen.

Jarnkrok might be able to be that guy as I believe he is currently playing better than both Monahan and Ruzicka. It just might cost you a bit more than you would like. Then again, are we going for it or not?

Well if you watched the outdoor game in Nashville there were over 20000 Tampa fans at the game.
