I just don't know what to make of the current forward mix tbh. Seems to be a gross lack of rush chances, especially xompared to teams like Florida and Colorado who generate a ton in transition. but is the issue personnel kr system? Coleman and Backlund have been strong rush scorers in past years.

Of course this not take into account any cap space or how we would trade or acquire players, but I do think if we can find a top 6 winger that would be huge. I wonder if it is maybe time to breakup the top line and try and find some chemistry among the other lines.

If you look at St. Louis, Vegas, Colorado, Minnesota, (Maybe Winnipeg) do we think Calgary stacks up well in a playoff series? Calgary needs to add a few pieces to compete with the big boys of the conference.

I can almost guarantee that Sutter won’t let zadorov go in trade unless Calgary is getting a better dman back .

Can’t see many teams wanting Mony unless they are sending close to the same amount of money back in the deal .

I think we need a look like this:

Gaudreau Lindholm Tkachuk (Good first line that checks the boxes)
Mangiapane Aquired C Coleman (Needs more skill than 11 at C)
Dube Backlund Pelletier (Brings energy, two way game with some offence)
Lucic Richardson Lewis (Effective in limited minutes for a playoff 4th line, could add here but low on the to-do list imo)

Hanifin Andersson (Good at what they do)
Kylington Tanev (Works)
Aquired D Gudbranson (need another skilled D man that can score on the rush and hold his own in the D zone)

There is a hole in the middle six RW. That's the need. There are Valimaki and Mackey in the AHL who can step in, and an existing RW in Pitlick who has not fit in. Play Phillips or trade him.

Yeah Kessel works for me. Giving him Backlund as a C should help that line stay above water in their own zone.

Kessel with Monahan might spell disaster.
