I’m surprised Hitchcock tolerated Rattie for this long. He knew he was garbage in St. Louis . Nothing has changed yet the Oilers wanted to try him on their top line

They should of just kept Eberle or stopped at Strome. This is why I think the Flames have done the right thing when you look at Backlund and Bennett. So much grumbling in both of their younger years that we should move them but all that does is get you a button when you move a player at their lowest point. Look at both of them now patience usually pays off.

The team that picks him up has to keep him on the roster. It is debatable if Rattie is any better than the players the Flames have already shuttling between the AHL and the NHL. There is no room for Ty Rattie.

There is no reason to do this, unless they want to add other assets to the lineup.

Since there is nothing in the AHL, I would guess that this is a precursor to a trade that is bringing in more NHLers than are heading out (i.e. trade for a pick)

In any case, it's interesting that rattie basically got no shot since hitchock got there. Wasn't rattie originally a blues draft pick? i wonder if he remained sour on him since his time in STL?

This. It's not like guys are coming off the IR and they need to send someone down. And there isn't anyone in the AHL that can help them.

This is a team that just let in 12 goals in two games, so the obvious solution is to trade draft picks for forwards. Never change Edmonton.

Yeah a team that's allowed 12 goals in 2 must win games and didn't really show any sign of life in either game isn't going to change in practice.
