I thought Mangiapane had his worst game as a Flame, wouldn't be surprised to see him shipped down to the A soon. Need more seasoning. Ryan was just bad.

Yep, with regard the blender - Peters seems to have a really good instinct for just how to mix it up. Good coach.

Quine has handled himself well since being called up. Not flashy but seems to give effort at both ends of the ice.

Right now he is seeing more PT than Mangiapane or Czarnik.

Nice write up.

I wonder if this becomes the backup plan for when the top line isn’t going, or when the other coach is effective in containing them - beef up the second with Lindholm ?

Maybe not when Backlund is back, on second thought. But it looked good today.

Nice job by Peters dressing 7 D and 11 F. He knew Gio was going to answer the bell, and be unavailable for a good chunk of time. Also, fourth line guys don’t get much ice time, and as you mention he is known for shortening the bench. Makes sense, given his remarks that a coach needs to figure out who is going on a given night and get them ice time.

I quite like what I've seen from this guy. Where did he come from, meaning how did we acquire him?

I honestly had no recollection of this guy being in the organization.before he was called up, and that's unusual.

Signed him as a ufa this summer.

I guess that had to be the answer. Trades usually are more noticeable than minor signings.

Seems like a decent depth player. Doesn't scare me defensively, looks like he could pitch in on the scoring sheet occasionally, effort level seems fine. Wouldn't be shocked if he pushes himself into more regular 4th line minutes.

Has been drafted twice it seems, I wonder what happened there.

He said in an interview after being called up that he views himself as a defensive focused player. Found that odd when I saw his numbers in the A but it seems to be the case. Guys a solid cheap option really like his work thus far.

Thanks for the excellent Game Takes write up!
I wasn’t able to catch the game, but your explanation and analysis of the lineup changes is great reading.

We hear & read a lot about how tough the Central Division is this year. All the more impressive, perhaps, that with the win, the Flames record versus the Central Division is now a lofty 9-2-1.

Quine has played over 80 NHL games and 10 playoff games. So I guess not shocking he looks comfortable out there. Sure seems like a quality signing.
