Ehh, not much different than the Flames kinda celebrating the history of a team from the 1920s in 2011. Though I really wish they had gone black and red instead of red and cream with those jerseys. The old Calgary Tigers were black and orange.

Since the White Retro jersey is coming anyways, I thought it would have been funny if the Flames incorporated the Calgary Stampeders hockey club jersey in some way. Seeing as the game is being played in Regina in enemy "Stampeders" territory, a nod to the Calgary v Saskatchewan rivalry would have been fun.

I agree, and would have LOVED if both teams wore coloured jerseys like the detroit/toronto winter classic a few years ago.
But we already had a red retro, I'm excited to see a white

Obviously personal opinion, but I disagree. On it's own as just a jersey maybe..but when paired with the entire uniform, I prefer the white. Along with the red pants, red/yellow gloves, and white lids, it's the perfect mix of white and red.
The retro reds are slick too obviously and I'm so happy they're back, but in comparison to the whites, the reds in full uniform is a bit too much red.
Retro white full uniform is the all-time best Flames uni. In my opinion of course..

They won’t. They’ll sell it with the patch this year as the “Heritage Classic jersey” and then next year when it’s (hopefully) our full time road jersey they’ll sell it patchless.

I think the rumor was that they'll be wearing these jerseys more than once this season, and any proceeding games wouldn't have the patch. So it's likely you'll be able to buy it with or without the patch (although maybe not when they first go on sale).

Keep in mind that the collars sit a lot closer to the neck on the Adidas style than the old v-necks. It won't look that drastic when the players are actually wearing them.
It should look about the same as the Habs' white jerseys when being worn.
