That True Grit trailer gave me chills the first time I saw it. Anyone know what that Johnny Cash song is? I've never really been into Westerns, but this movie looks pretty epic. Can't wait to see it.
That Cowboys and Aliens movie looks like it could be pretty good too. It's a neat idea for a movie.

"God's Gonna Cut You Down" off of his American V - A Hundred Highways album. Best song on the album imo.

I know the first trailer of this was posted above, but this is the full trailer that includes a sweet Johnny Cash song.
This movie is getting a lot of buzz. I'm not a big western guy, but the Coen brother rarely let me down, so I'm there opening night.
I'm a huge fan of american novelist Charles Portis, who wrote True Grit, and I've always maintained that the original John Wayne movie completely missed the mark. I'm very optimistic that the Coens will get it right.
I know that god awful Skyline movie is out. And everyone is saying Monsters is the superior of the 2 alien invasion movies. But I would like to submit Battle: LA as the one that will trump the 2.

Leaked Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trailer. Directed by David Fincher. And it has been confirmed he will not use the ending from the book/original Swedish movie.
Whoa. I only ever saw girls reading that book so I just assumed it was another escapist, vampire, romance novel. I guess I was wrong.
The Millennium-series (which "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is the first part of) has sold 40 million copies and counting, making it a bestseller in the blow-your-mind scale, considering it's only a few years old and it's not even out in many countries where it will inevitably be published.
I thought you had to live in a cave to not know what it's about. But I guess the North America counts as a cave when it comes to culture-not-originally-in-English.
Not your fault, obviously.
Personally I've only read the first one (Which is originally titled "Men who hate women", but this was considered too provocative for the English speaking market.)
I thought it was okay, but if you haven't read anything in the "nordic noir" style of crime books, I guess the experience would be different. I hear the next two are better, putting Lisbeth Salander as the actual main character.

My "Nordic Noir" bookshelf is currently empty. Maybe this would be the perfect addition.
