I don't know if you guys also get Talking Dead, but they had Austin Nichols (who plays Spencer) on to talk about the show. He said that through filming he kept Spencer's perspective clear in his mind so that he could play the character in all those situations and decisions with a proper amount of conviction. Then he said he watched the episodes as they aired and all he could think was "Spencer is such a ######bag (feminine hygiene product)."
It must be hard to play that kind of character without hating yourself.

He was great on talking dead, I really liked him and I wish an actor as good as he is had a better character, at the end of the day though the fact that I hate his character as much as I do is a testament to the work he did.
His character was every rich, spoiled, entitled and whiny brat everyone has ever known and Negan put that together in two seconds.
Rick and his group are like the rest of us, he indulged and sacrificed to help this idiot, Spencer was a drain on resources and it was tolerated due to ingrained social constructs whereas Negan would have none of it, and theres something satisfying about that.
The indulgence of those luxuries is fine in normal society because it isnt a strain on available resources but when you're clawing to stay alive the dead weight has to be jettisoned.

I think playing a villain or d-bag like Spencer would be more fun for most actors because you are playing a character that's not remotely close to yourself. I suppose that's not the case all the time as some actors aren't very nice people. Jeffrey Morgan is having a hoot playing Negan.

Yep me too. In fact once Spencer went to talk to Negan I knew it would be him. Really if you are going to backstab the leader of your group to take his spot you should probably realize that Negan may see you as a tad untrustworthy.

Enjoyable episode to be sure. I liked the slow-mo reunion at the end. And then the walk up to the mansion. We got some bad asses in here! I'm hoping this leads up to an all out war.
As far as the unknown person in the black boots, I wonder if it's a character we've already met? Why else conceal their identity?

They would do that if they hadn't cast the actor for the role yet when they shot it, but still wanted to tease the character's introduction.
That's what they did when they introduced Michonne. She first appeared in the final episode of season 2 with her face concealed because they hadn't actually cast the role yet.

Wife and I started this series 6 weeks ago and just watched the most recent episode tonight.
The 1st episode of this season was insane. Blood, guts and gore don't bother me, but the psychological aspect of what Negan did, and how he continues to mentally destroy anyone he meets, is just enthralling.
Half of me is excited to get back to semi productive nights. The other half can't believe we have to wait another month to watch the next episode, and then wait every week for a newer one, like freaking cave men.
Not my favorite series of all time, but I'm super happy to have finally jumped on the bandwagon.

Yup. First episode was Nov 26 We usually did 2/night after the kids went to sleep.
Like I said...I'm semi excited to have a break and do something else with that time.

Saw a TV spot for it last night during some commercials, so I'll put it in spoilers just in case. Back next Sunday!

I still want to know:

Really looking forward to tonight's episode. I'm up for a couple of weeks of recruitment and strategizing if it pays off in an all out war against the Saviours in the end.

On the radio last night they were talking about the new season being less dark, keeping everybody together as much as possible. I don't mind the second item, but the dark tone of last season didn't bother me that much.
