Per @GMillerTSN, Kulikov to EDM is done. NJ gets a conditional fourth-round pick this year that becomes a third-round pick if EDM wins a playoff round.
So a 4th haha

Came for a “for a 4th then” and left doubly satisfied.

Hope they make more moves for UFAs. Keep bleeding assets when there is no chance of making much noise in the playoffs.

Yep, like last season...give up 2 seconds for a UFA and miss the playoffs

People were saying they won the deadline

So, this 4th round pick is for this year it sounds like, so when the Oilers lose in the first round, they will have exactly 1 pick prior to the 6th round in this coming draft.

Sure it’s not a great draft, but you are sure to hit nothing if you have no bullets.

Edit: capfriendly says both picks are next years. That contradicts bob mackenzie

2 second rounders for 9 games and 2 points from Athanasiou.

Not to mention a 4th round pick for 2 games of Mike Green.

For those keeping track.

In the next 2 drafts the Oiler have 11/14 picks and 5 out of 8 in the first 4 rounds.

Augmenting high priced talent with cheap replacement level players is even more vital with a flat cap.

Keep trading picks boys. Save a few more players from their tire fire organization.

To be fair, any picks after the 1st don't have much value to the Oilers.

If the player isn’t on the cover of Kevin Lowe’s draft edition hockey news, oilers get lost.

Edmonton is likely to play Winnipeg the first round and they've won 4/6 vs them this year and lost the other two by 1 goal but yeah no chance

Winning one round isn't making noise (and Winnipeg can take them).

If you win one round and have a hot goalie Smith and the best duo in hockey you can win another. This is the easiest path to final four of all time.

lol the Oilers are under .500 against playoff teams but if you feel the need to come to a Flames message board and tell us how they are contenders go for it. Seems to me that they are fading down the stretch like last season.

Mike Smith stealing games against the Sens, pounded by the Flames...maybe better luck with the covid Canucks

It is the easiest path, but that doesn't make it likely for the oilers. How was the path last year, with 100% of the games at home?

Unlikely to happen, teams with no depth tend to get exposed in the playoffs especially when the refs start calling playoff game style.

And its not easy, I expect that Toronto would cave in Edmonton's skull in a series, and I take montreal and the Jets in a series.

Against the worst team in the playoffs, and I'd argue that the oilers are about on the same level as last years team. A good powerplay, decent penalty killing, underwhelming at even strength.

And Smith won't carry them forever, Smith will be Smith.
