thought they might sign Beck, but not surprised about the others. Too bad when 3rd rounders don't progress enough to even warrant an ELC, especially when you don't have a ton of picks to begin with.

Because a team choosing not to re-sign players is exactly the same as a player staying in school long enough that they can choose whatever team they want...
The solution is as simple as making a special clause that gives the drafting team the exclusive opportunity to sign or walk away from a player that has finished school. If the team walks away, the player can sign wherever they'd like.

Jack Beck is exactly the type of "swing for the fences" pick you make in the sixth round. This one was a whiff however.
If he goes undrafted, maybe the organization offers him a "show me" ECHL deal.

Beck's health problems have derailed what was otherwise a promising prospect. If he can get healthy he still has a shot.
The others kind of developmentally flatlined. Jordan was a strange pick the day it was made.

Speaking of Sergeev, wouldn't be surprised if fellow University of Connecticut product Matthew Wood lands in the Flames lap for their first round pick.

5 total whiffs in a row when you include Stromgren, who hasn’t projected much better.
How is Button so bulletproof?

Lucas Ciona looks alright? Was picked after all of them.

When Conroy talked about not having great drafts the last few he must have been talking about this one as well.

Would have been better off crossing names off a $20 copy of McKeen’s since 2017

Wait, wasn’t Arsenii Sergeev a 2021 pick? How come his rights didn’t expire?

Some bypassed names here. I see they listed Whynot as a player who might be worth another look.

2021 was the shut down year so I'm curious if the Flames aren't alone in not signing guys from this draft. Jeff Beck didn't play a single game that year, so it was a true guessing game.

From 2021? I acknowledge that wasn't a good draft. But there were also factors in play due to Covid.

Hmm. I don’t follow the prospect base like most of you folks, but Whynot was a guy who impressed me in the Penticton tournament last year.
