Are we going back to normal? Doesn't the rhyme go, "April showers bring may flowers."?

Growing up in the 90s, I recall it being mostly brown by August, if not late July...so in that case, I guess we are going back to normal.

We have no shortage of encampments in the bluff, most likely cause of the fire.

Spruce Meadows holds the National June 14 - 18. It usually always rains then so there is still hope.

This rain feels nice, but what’s with the non-existent forecast.

There was a chance of showers forecast. Looks like it only hit the North end.

The clouds are looming over the south end of the city at the moment, no rain yet but it feels like it’ll be here soon.

Weather Network says 5-10mm on Friday and ~10mm on Sunday but tbh they have been absolutely clowning since May 1

I'm thinking the Weather Network forecast is rainfall from thunderstorms. Probably not widespread across the whole city. Would love to be wrong though.

Yeah, WN is saying, Fri: 5-10mm, Sat: 1-3mm, Sun: 10mm, then smaller amounts every day for the first half of next week.
Yeah I'm also skeptical given they've been saying this practically every week for a month regarding the following week, but we haven't gotten this close to the predicted days yet where the forecast hasn't been already altered to no rain. Thinking happy thoughts...

My lawn has been crap since I've owned it over 15 years. But if I can't even get a reasonable amount of moisture in April/May/June to keep it from looking like a desert, I'm not even going to try anymore. It's time to start investigating xeriscaping.

I've given up. Always had one of the nicest lawns not anymore I'm out.

I'm right there with you. Years ago I would mow regularly, water, fertilize and other things. Now I can barely care enough to go out and mow every second week. Next year I'm hoping to rip up a bunch of grass and plant some trees and flowers in my front yard. At some point after that I want to build a retaining wall in the front and some more flower beds on top of that. Once done that should cut down on 50% of my grass.
