I find it hilarious when people talk about the Oilers "Cup window". It was last year. It's over. That was their peak. At best they stay the same as last year, but regression in some areas is expected (powerplay, offensive output). Other teams in the Pacific/West will improve.
Next year will be Draisatl's last year with the team.

Assuming all of the Oilers' cap space goes to Bouchard, I don't even know how they're going to pay the other 6 forwards that need contracts. I'm assuming they'll just rush a bunch of underserving prospects in typical Oilers fashion.
Maybe they'll be forced to bridge Bouchard. It's possible their forward depth will be even worse this coming year.
After that, the window truly closes with Draisaitl's contract being up.

How small of a bridge deal would Bouchard accept though? 10th overall draft pick with back to back 40+ point seasons gets you paid/traded or you fire the agent.
They have under $6m in cap space and only 8 forwards signed, and to make matters worst Kostin and McLeod both have arb rights, the way I see it someone big is going to have to develop a bad itch over the summer for LTIR relief
