Most finals recently have been dull, too many nerves, teams set up too defensively.

Correct me if I’m wrong but if the defending team pops it back that shouldn’t be offside right?

Madrid Flames’d?

Only reason I can think of is they are claiming it was inadvertent, but yeah that should be a goal. Should have counted it no matter what because this game needs a goal.

Boggles my mind how few people actually know the laws of the game. The law was applied appropriately here.

Offside offence

A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched* by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:
interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or
interfering with an opponent by:
preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or
challenging an opponent for the ball or
clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
or
gaining an advantage by playing the ball or interfering with an opponent when it has:
rebounded or been deflected off the goalpost, crossbar or an opponent
been deliberately saved by any opponent

Not a fan of either team but real has just been embarrassing in their approach to this game. The goal and the disallowed goal might be the only two chances all game.

The style of play is 100% anti football.

And I mean liverpool can't break them down but still just grim football on this kind of stage. Hard to watch this game

That certainly won't help the Trent can't defend narrative. Should hopefully open the game up now.

It went off two liverpool players attempting a tackle and then to benzema

Attempting a tackle is by definition playing the ball

I can see some gray area between the order the ball hit people before moving back because no camera angle captured it perfectly

You come in to this thread, or the premier league one, and talk down to everyone as if you understand the game on a higher level

Neville and Carragher were doing their team of the season and talked about exactly they and why southgate has him as 4th choice of his right backs

You'd be right if the ball hadn't come off Fabinho's knee. It rebounded off the Real Madrid player, then to Fabinho's knee, then to Benzema who was in an offside position. In fairness to you, it did take a long time for the VAR crew to get the call right, so I suppose you're not the only not to grasp the game at the higher level.

Three finals this season, two with added time, and no goals for Liverpool is crazy.

I feel bad for my Liverpool friends, and a couple guys on here. Sucks for you guys and sports in general is rough some days. I can’t say I was cheering for Liverpool, but I still feel for the guys who live and die with them, and this tough outcome.

Watching ancelotti at Real helps me visualize what would have happened if roy hodgson's palace had a 500 million pound player budget. But to be fair palace would have at least countered a half dozen times. Credit for superb keeping tho
